How much does a gummy blue shark weigh? And what flavor are they supposed to be?

    Shark flavored. Duh.
EDIT: I would mash with them, but use a lot of rice hulls.

Each shark contains 3.14 grams of Sugar, in the form of Corn Syrup. They're like blue raspberry with coconut flavoring.

Mr malty calculated 2.3 packets of blue gummy shark per gallon. That was after it told me "F@#k off you want to prime with what?!"

While most European/British brewers will tell you that it's more traditional to carb with Swedish Fish, a lot of people think they're just superstitiously clinging to hidebound traditions. At the end of the day, there are just a handful of really important factors in making good beer:

    1. Ensure a full, vigorous boil.
    2. Pitch a healthy, active, appropriately sized culture of yeast.
    3. Maintain a controlled fermentation temperature.
    4. Carbonate with some form of sugary, brightly-colored candy in the shape of an aquatic organism, ideally a fish (but in a pinch, a marine mammal will also work).

A lot of beginning brewers should focus on those 4 steps before trying to brew complicated, advanced recipes (imperial coffee chocolate vanilla cherry-aged stout or whatever). Walk before you run!
