I'm a semi-ticker. I always want to try brews that I haven't had (or don't have access to) but if there's nothing that's new that strikes my fancy, I'll always turn to what I know I love. I would have voted hoarder but the extras I do buy, I get with the intentions of cellaring, sharing or pick up for regular trading partners that I know don't get in their area and I think they'll want. But yeah, definitely hoarding tendencies veiled behind good intentions. I guess that's why my wife is mad at me for taking over the top of our closet and basement with the 300+ beers I have on hand (and God only knows the $$$ I spent to get them).

Nothing at all wrong with being a ticker except that you are forced to tick off beers that most people wouldn't bother spending on thin dime on. Oh, and you get laughed at a lot.

Counter culture for sure. There are a lot of beers that people regard as great that I find mediocre at best. And I will verbalize it. Maybe I'm picky about my beer? or maybe I just expect a beer that is so widely praised to actually be good so when it's not I can be harsh on it.

Ticking is a virtue, and possibly a curse...but never a sin.

What about the guy that started drinking craft beer 3 years ago and is now an expert and judges everyone else for the beer they drink?

Probably culture counter. There are plenty of beers I don't think are as great as people make them out to be.

If every brewery put effort into making a nice Czech Pils, I'd probably be right there with you. German Pils seems to be far more prevalent though.

If I adore it, is in limited supply, ageable, no (store induced) bottle limit and am able to afford it...then I'm getting as much as I can get my meat hooks on. I will then drink and enjoy with reckless abandon. Although this 'strategy' might keep other people from acquiring 'said brand,' then let it be so...I will undoubtedly please the distributor with my purchase in hopes of that particular bottle/liquor outfit getting another allotment if/when that 'said brand' makes another round.

Sadly a hoader. I buy so much beer that I stash it in a fridge forget about it and than realize its been sitting there for years. Just dumped a few bottles of Brown Shugga that was bottled in 2012. Wanted some Cigar City and ended up with fourteen 6 packs.

Hoarders piss me off. Recently my buddy went to a release and the keg was tapped in less than 15min because the store was too dumb to enforce limits. Who needs 6 growlers full? Share the wealth man, that's what craft beer is all about.

Do you verbalize your own opinion and explain why, or do you just belittle those who disagree? One of the two is good to have in any group of drinkers. The other is best avoided.

There are plenty of hoarders with a basement full of beer who are still considerate when it comes to limited releases. The limited release hoarder is a small subset.

I guess im a ticker. Ain't no shame in tasting everything that your way. As long as its not 2oz pours.
And a little bit of Counter-Culture tossed in, but i give my opinions and explain.

I'll get on the impulse buyer bandwagon. Which can make me a borderline hoarder if I don't keep myself in check.

I figure I'm a ticker and a bragger. Most of my friends and family don't drink craft brews so I'm constantly bragging about the flavors and the qualities of a good brew to open their eyes.
