    Hello all,

Had a couple packages I was going to drop off at FedEx today. Would love opinions about if this is going to be a problem or not, based on the weather, and others' experiences during storms.

Is this a bad idea? Are things going to sit around in trucks and freeze? Will they be safe in warehouses? Is there any way to tell at ALL?

    Thanks in advance!

    -Steve

Horrible idea. Do not ship this week. If your trading partner has a problem with it, tell him you'll drop it off but cant be held accountable for any losses.

It is supposed to be about 20 for a high in Boston for the next few days. Do you want your beer sitting somewhere not moving for 2 days in a truck in the teens?

With this in mind, I'm wondering if my boxes will be okay sitting in my car all day, as they won't make it into a FedEx office. I wish there were some sort of chart to see interior temperatures of cars based on exterior temperatures. I guess I'm lucky that the lowest ABV is over 8. I just can't stand the thought of opening my car and finding a cracked Abner growler... : (

Just stretching my brain power a bit here, but perhaps you could bring the beer inside until you're ready to ship it?

Good plan, Jesse! I'll just bring the wrapped up liquor boxes into the school I work at.

Your beer will be fine.... Don't ship until after the storm but a day out in the car is fine.

I shipped a box out today that is headed west to a beer buddy. Want to try to get him some stuff for the Super Bowl and took a little chance. If it gets west of Boston this evening I think it will be fine. But I could be wrong. Will be fun to find out.

I shipped from CT heading west on Monday before the storm. Someone from NY shipped to me also. The storm ended up east of us so hopefully we're OK. These facilities run 24hours and if they do close for the storm I can't believe the whole place gets cold enough for the packed beer to be cold enough to freeze.

    Update:

"Severe weather conditions have delayed delivery. / We’re working to deliver your package as soon as possible."

Haha. Not too worried about it but it certainly didn't get far enough west!

Can't complain about FedEx. Sure, my box was expected to arrive yesterday. But we did get this in the last 24 hours:

And he was still at my door at 9am with this:

It's not your job to trade. Why would you even bother trying during a storm? If they can't wait they have problems.

My blizzard baby arrived 2 days late:

I was concerned about the single digit overnight temps, but so far they don't seem any worse for wear.
