Do you only like one beer within a style?

What are some beers that you really enjoy, but you're usually not particularly fond of the style it's brewed in? For me, I really like Sam Adams Noble Pils, but every other pilsener I've had has been pretty mediocre to my palette. Anyways, how about you guys?

Seems you need to try some more Pilsners:wink:. I am not particularly fond of American Wheat, still haven't found an exception to that.

Yeah I second american wheat, especially hefe territory. Only the germans can fulfill my hefe desires.

I'm not a huge barley wine fan, but love the hoppiness of Bigfoot.

    Oh, and palate.

Gumballhead, Oberon, and Lil Sumpin Sumpin are the best examples of american pale wheat beers that I've had. When it comes to american brewed hefeweizens, Kellerweiss is pretty good, and Dancing Man is fantastic. That one can definitely compete with the german brewed ones.

I'm not a fruit beer fan but New Glarus' Raspberry Tart and Wisconsin Red are 'glarusing' exceptions.

I'm not a big fan of Kvass, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Moskovskaya Pivovarennaya Kompaniya so will occasionally reach for a Moskvas Klassicheskiy.

American Wheat for me, too. Gumballhead is the only consistent exception.

I really hate seeing Lil Sumpin referred to as a APWA, it's an IPA as far as I am concerned.

I do not do most Fruit beers but Short's puts out some that tend to be an exception. I do not run into many California Commons, most have been at smaller breweries and really lackluster, but I do love Anchor Steam.

I generally don't like Stouts, but do enjoy GL Blackout and Founders IS. Every time I drink one, I'm like "damn, this is good". I still only drink them a few times a year.

    It's not that either, man. It's a hoppy Kolsch!

(Joking aside, it does kind of remind me of the Kolsch that Deschutes used to make in the early 90s, only a bit hoppier. My attitude back then was the same, that they crossed over into IPA territory no matter what the grain bill.)

This post is even more disturbing than the bath salt aftermath picture in PlinytheFarter's farewell thread.
