Don't let that beer mock you. You are better than that. If not send it to me and I'll eradicate this menace!

I plan on NOT going anywhere, and finish it.
Otherwise, would be like eating half of a dry aged ribeye, not gonna happen.

I guess an alternative would be to stop buying bombers of big beers....well that's not gonna happen either!

It is called Speedway because it was brewed for consumption while on the treadmill. Problem solved.

Perhaps a feature that needs to be added as an upgrade would alert local BA's of a fellow BA that was unable to finish a bottle.

    Ha, I like it.

Perhaps call it FUBAR instead of Uber. The app that lets you find someone else to drink with in your immediate area.

Where in NY are you? Lots of bottle shares in various parts of the state.

Putnam County. Seen a few but whenever I had something worthy of sharing, it seems I would finish most or all of it before the share date. And usually on purpose. Sometimes I don't play well with others.

I'd happily drink a 750ml Saison or a Gueuze / Lambic myself. An Imperial Stout, especially one I have not tried yet, would be a risk though. I could drink a bomber of BCBS without a problem, but a beer like the 110k+OT #6 I shared yesterday would be fairly impossible to enjoy myself. Above that I have several 12 oz bottles I can enjoy alone, and leave the larger bottles (>500ml) for tastings with at least one friend.

I cap it and come back to it the next night, it does work, you just buy some of the real nice wine bottle re-sealers, my wife bought me a real good one that has an expanding rubber stopper that goes on the inside of the neck and expands when you turn the top, all my bombers taste almost just as fresh the next day.

I see on the bigger ABV stuff some of you split a bottle or a growler over two days. I've always used my Houdini bottle stopper which seems to hold the carbonation fine for a few hours between pours. Would this suffice for keeping it for the next day? I've wondered but I'm afraid of ruining a good beer to find out. Also, what about opening a swing top growler, would it hold carbonation for say 24 hours?

I've recapped bombers and enjoyed swing top growlers for a few days after initial opening but the carbonation drops off (inexact science warning) by AT LEAST 50% IMO for day two and is just barely north of flat come day three.

You might lose some carbonation but you aren't going to "ruin" the beer. If you are going to open it and drink half? and drink the other half the next day, you should be fine.

One thing to consider though is that every beer will store differently. In the end you really are going to have to try it with the beer you are buying/drinking to see how it stands up. If it goes flat to the point of not wanting to drink it...which I highly doubt...then you 'll know that particular beer won't work.

Power through it, it'll teach you a lot about buying beer and up ur tolerance in the long run! A bomber is nothing in the scheme of things. Finish what u started, don't dump it and don't cork it. Dome that jawn

Don't start what you can't finish.
Pacing is key, and food probably helps.

If you really must cap it. Drink it within a day. Many styles keep fine, and their carb levels just drop to what would be a real ale level.
