I picked up a few GF Sculpins today and the numbers are barely legable. It seems to be,

    SC. 6G

    15008

    I'm assuming it's Jan. 8 2015?

I'm so jealous. Not only that I can't find 21 day old GFS, I can't find any GFS in Ohio!

Killed a growler of it with a buddy this past week. This beer is delish. I hope Habanero Sculpin gets national distribution soon.

All the employees hoarded it up at the bottle shop I frequent. Fuckers.

That would be Jan 17th. The first two numbers are the year. The last three are the day out of 365 it was bottled.

yea same here. However, at my Whole Foods Ive become somewhat a "regular" at their bar, and the bartender said he snagged the last sixer and he would bring me in 2. They were delicious, really wish they got more in. We'll just have to wait for hopslam Feb 9th.

Yes, but as I posted in another thread, I couldn't find the date on a label of Grapefruit Sculpin in a store in San Diego County recently. I visited Ballast Point the next day and asked to be shown where the dating was on a bottle they had in the cooler. The guy working showed it to me: it was on the lower right, not lower left as found on the standard Sculpin. Also, it was very close to the white border. He said sometimes the bottles could be turned slightly when going through date stamping and the white print would wind up on the white part of the label.

Thanks! Frequently these date codes are illegible.

I have seen it on the other corner of the bottle too. I agree the dates codes are frequently ineligible. To small to read.

I talked to the Ballast Point Midwest Rep last week. They are making more Grapefruit Sculpin then regular Sculpin this year... it will be around more for everyone to try... Chicago just got their first shipment of kegs this last week

Shoot! I wish I saw this thread before I posted in the other "grapefruit sculpin" thread. I too was trying to figure where the julian date was printed (I was looking for ink on the bottle like lagunitas). After I was helped out by a fellow BAer, I located the date/julian numbers) and they were so hard to read. For what it's worth, my bottles were from dec 16 (i think, ink was so faded), which is relatively pretty fresh for my town (most beers, especially IPAs, are close to three months old by the time they are on the shelves; my town sucks for fresh beer).
