Used to make some amateur labels that are not even close to the ones posted here. Stopped because I don't have the time anymore, although I do think about it very frequently. Still do name the brews though, I recently did an a vanilla bean oatmeal stout with cinnamon, named Blacksmith's Daughter. Did a re-brew this weekend under Revenge of the Blacksmith's Daughter.

While I design the labels I posted here, this is usually what I use to mark any bottles I have, and that is usually on the cap only.

I made an oatmeal stout for all of my groomsmen and designed customized labels in photoshop for them as one of their gifts. This one was for my brother-in-law. My nephew made an appearance as well. I could not find a "finished" screenshot so the label is missing a vertical description and barcode.

Um, I'd recommend looking through the above posts before posting that question...

If I make labels I use beerlabelizer.com which is free and or a 5$ donation. That being said I only print labels for special occasions and generally just use the metallic sharpie markers on bottles. It's pretty snazzy looking.

What labels are you guys using for printing on? They come off easy in a hot water soak/oxyclean soak?

This is what I use. It comes in a few other colors, but white is all that I use. I usually find it at my LHBS, but the link is just a picture for you, or you can get some at Northern Brewer. After use, it floats right off the bottle with a minute's soak in hot water. You have to be careful to print on the non-glue side or you'll end up with a mess and a useless label, and it's difficult to see which side has the glue unless you are under a bright light. So use caution.

I have used good quality paper and whole milk, works like a charm. Just paint whole milk on the back of the label, position it, and let it dry. It comes off with out soaking, just get it wet long enough to resaturate the dried milk and it's done.

I use cardstock paper with glue sticks. Goes on easy. Comes off Easy. A laser printer is also HIGHLY recommended. Inkjet printed labels will run when exposed to moisture.

I'm really enjoying these right now. They are my pre-release labels for sampling. Vinyl stickers. They peel off and can be moved to new bottles.
