Price is ludicrous, but yes, people will pay for it.

Are they charging for a kick in the balls too? Or is that free with purchase?

think he's just pointing to various craigslist posts. think it's still cheaper to trade for a 4-pack but not by much.

I don't think I would pay $50.00 for a 4 pack. Would pay more than $10.00 for a can. once

    Empty can = $10??

What kind of idiot would pay that for an empty can? Alchemist produces 45K cans per week....

Paying $50 for a 4 pack is not a bright move IMO.

I'd buy a 4-pack for $50 if I'd never had it before. I'd hate myself but I'd do it - its a drop in the bucket considering how much I've spent on beer over the years.

To each their own. But $50 on a 4 pack of Heady is crazy. I would never find myself supporting a store or individual that charges something crazy like that.

I hear you - it wouldn't be about supporting anyone. it would be about me having the beer I wanted. I have zero interest in actually buying it for $50 but when I look through the offerings at my local bottle shop I see lots of things I've bought for between $15-30+/bomber. I'm just saying I'm not completely against paying that kind of money to get what I want. I think lots of other people are the same way.

Well, but you're getting the beer you want with no guarantee that it's remotely as fresh as is being claimed. So you may be getting a six-month old version of that beer, which will disappoint you and give the brewery an ill-deserved bad reputation. The advantage of trading with someone on BA who has recently been up to Vermont (or wherever) is that there's a built-in mutual feedback system that holds people accountable. I know you're saying you wouldn't buy it at that price, but I also think that there are too many problems with supporting this sort of shady commerce, and good alternatives to it, to bother.

Definitely fair points but trading requires significantly more effort. I accept that black market purchases are risky in nature but ease of acquisition is a factor

This is all crazy, but the $10 for an empty can takes the cake. I love the idea that someone is going to pay $10 to pretend like they drank a Heady.
