Um, with all due respect to where you're spending your afternoon, I would not use them for Horizontalhood. If you were talking Schramms or Kuhnhenn (especially Kuhnhenn as they do beer too) then it'd be an entirely different story.

I left there awhile ago, it was a general question based on being reminded about mead, which I don't drink frequently. I agree there stuff wasn't amazing, but it was far from bad. Your comment is the equivalent of saying that only Hill Farmstead and Alchemist are acceptable.

 

Sorry, I didn't mean it to come off that way. Those are just the only other two meaderies I have much experience with.

Let me add to this a little bit too. While I don't have experience with other meaderies, I do know that those two are considered two of the best, and the experience I do have with them is outsandingly positive. As such, those would earn an exception to what would otherwise probably be a 'no' to your question, from me, because I'm not nearly as into mead as I am beer. I would enjoy trying out any local meadery's offering as an extra (including that one), but I don't know if I'd want my entire box to be comprised of it.

In short, I'm not by any means turning my nose up at something that isn't the best because of that fact, I'd just prefer to get beer over mead 9 times out of 10. A hybrid location like Cigar City would be fine for me because presumably I'd also9 get beer.

Now, if you wanted to start a BIF like sixterhood that was specific to mead, that'd be different entirely, because then I'd know when signing up that I was going to get mead.

A no would have been a fine answer. I don't own any stock in mead companies, and for the most part mead is more expensive than beer.
