Any other weekend warriors here?

    Well first off, I work in retail, so my weekend is in the middle of the week. But I'm a 1-2 per day with an occasional day off type. I've been blessed with a metabolism like a Vitamix, and will be a sad panda when that goes.

    I used to be a weekend warrior. Maybe a beer or two every now and then during the week. Then, I got married and drank every day. Ha! Ok, I kid there, but I did start coaching JV high school basketball. I thought that my beer consumption would decrease and maybe I would lose a few pounds, especially since the games are Fridays and Saturdays nights. However the opposite occurred. Those kids have driven me to drink. Beer consumption definitely up and the day of the week didn't matter. The good news for my liver and kidneys is that the season ended yesterday. Now, back to weekend warrior (hopefully).

    That's awesome! I did a Low Carb diet 10 years ago. I've kept the pounds off for 8 years now, I'm glad I can see my dick! I drink a few beers everyday, but I use beer as my daily carbs. So my routine usually goes as follows.

    • 1 Glass (8 ounce) Orange Juice = 25-30 grams carbs.
    • 4 eggs (over easy)
    • Lots of water in between
    • Chicken breast with seasonings
    • BEER!
    • Tuna or Salmon with Sautéed Spinach.
    That's my daily routine..oh and Treadmill in the Morning after my coffee. You can drink beer daily, just eat lean and Stay active!

    Isn't there a saying about 'a beer a day keeps the doctor away'? Because I'm following it, and I'd be disappointed if anyone corrects me.

    Mon-Wed normally 1, sometimes 0.
    Thurs 1-2
    Sat whatever
    Sun 1-2

    along with gym, gym, gym...the wife will ban beer if I get fat...

    I'm finishing up a degree, so night s when I'm working on school work I don't touch anything because I'm kind of a lightweight. On days when I don't have to work on anything, I might go nuts and have two whole beers. Yeah, I live on the edge.

    I'm pretty similar. Unless it's some kind of occasion (vacation, out-of-town friend is visiting, anniversary/birthday dinner, CBS is being tapped), I don't drink Mon-Thu. Over the weekend, my limit is 2 beers/day, but usually I don't reach it. My typical pattern is 1 on Fri night, 2 on Sat, and maybe 1 on Sun. I used to have beer, wine, or whisky every night with dinner, but went totally dry from Jan-May last year. I lost nearly 30 pounds and finally got rid of the gut I'd been carrying since college. Maintaining that weight is in the forefront of my mind whenever I'm deciding on what to eat/drink, and that helps keep my consumption down.

    With the exception of holidays and vacations, this is pretty much me now:

    Monday and Tuesday = 0
    Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday = 2 each night
    Friday and Saturday = 4 each night

    I measure this appropriately too. In other words, as 12 oz. of 5% beer counting as "one beer." So that bomber of Lagunitas Hairy Eyeball is basically four beers.

    I used to be pretty much dry Sunday-Thursday and then put down 6-8 on both Friday and Saturday. I found this wasn't working for me for two reasons #1.) The "I drank too much last night" feeling wasn't as funny as it used to be and #2.) I wanted a couple of beers during the week! With my tolerance of alcohol much lower these days, I find that the above schedule allows me a to chill out nicely, enjoy some good brews and not be a hot mess the next day.

    Used to drink whenever. Now I've toned it back. I only drink once a week and even then 2 sometimes 3 at the most. My wallet, weight, mind, mornings, and palate are all much happier.

    I really enjoy it seeing as I get to anticipate and really slow down and enjoy the beer. I got to a point where all IPA's were tasting the same and i drank beer just to either say I had that certain one or to booze up. Now my palate is not fatigued and I'm actually taking into account whether I actually enjoy said beer or just boarding the hype train.

    Monday - Thursday - nothing
    Friday - Saturday - a couple of beers or some wine.
    Sunday - normally just one beer.

    Anything more and my weight just starts creeping up there.

    No, it isn't. I took a class over the weekend and significantly improved my capacity...:wink:

    No excuses, lazy post. Friday fatigue, libation-induced fat fingers and lack of focus...all contributed to the reality the generated the observation and response. I did it...I own it.

    This is pretty interesting. Unless on a vacay, I literally never drink M-W, maybe 1-2 on most Thursdays, Fri & Sat are when I really drink whatever I want, then Sundays are a crap shoot.

    I actually have been loosing weight since I began really drinking quite a bit recently... I thought it would be the opposite myself. I was afraid to step on the scale the other day and saw I was down a few LBS, so that was awesome!

    I do set drinking days that I (usually) follow... Monday and Tuesday are my "dry" days typically. Wednesday and one weekend day being "heavy" days at a brewery or something. The other days (Thur/Fri/other weekend day) are usually dry or just one.

    I tend to balance myself with the food... If I know I want to drink more, I eat less. I had a "cheat" day the other day where I wanted a few beers on one of my "off" days and so I had nothing but vegetables for dinner. During the week I try to follow a vegetarian type diet anyway, so my meals are usually pretty light but I still tend to too eat to many breads and such. Trying to eliminate that...

    I don't care about the ABV or anything like that when I drink. I never have really had a hangover or gotten sick from drinking, so I just drink what I want to drink. I am a big guy (6'6" and 250lbs) so my tolerance is good.
