For those of you that own multiple CBS, would you give up a bottle for the follow combo?

    2 x KBS
    1 X 2011 BCBS
    1 x BB4D
    1 X BA Pt5th
    1 x BA Blackout Stout

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Cheers!

    Joe

looks like a solid offer - you're definitely going over the $ value of the beer, which should catch some people's attention. post an ISO and see what comes of it.

One of the beers I listed here isn't with me yet (should be here next week). As soon as it arrives, I will be posting this. Thanks for the insight.

All of the beers that you're offering are superior beers to CBS. I say keep them and enjoy!

haha. I will probably agree with you later, but I have had at least one of each of above and no CBS yet. I think your response has helped lower my expectation of CBS - I don't deal well with disappointment.

Oh one more question - would Hunah land a CBS 1:1?

I would probably make the deal for the offer in your ISO.

I wouldn't do it for a Hunah, but then again that beer isn't my thing so I'm not the best to answer that.

Agree with this. I felt, and still feel, CBS is incredibly overrated. Every beer that you have listed FT I found to be much more enjoyable.

Solid offer... With all the hate of CBS in this thread I guess I'll stand up for it, as I've had all of those but BA Blackout. CBS is more unique than any of those. While everything you are offering is great, I'd wonder how many people could pick each out in a side by side blind tasting. I'm sure I'll get a bunch of people bragging how they would be able to pick up on the differences but there is no way around it, blind tastings humble a person. CBS is different and great. Of course you better like sweet stouts. All of these are world class beers so if you are asking if CBS is appreciatively better than them I'd say no, but if you have had all of those but not CBS I think it'd be a great trade to make.

I'd love to try CBS, but have concerns about whether or not it has held up. Is the maple still there? If not, is it worth going for even if the unique flavors have fallen off?

Not having had this since probably December, I couldn't tell you about it's current state. I will say that BAs consistently over-exaggerate the demise of beers. Plus, peoples memories are not reliable. I know there are plenty of people that would tell you CBS has fallen off and not worth trading for. Lets remember, it's only been out for 9 months, not 3 or 4 years.

I have a CBS and would happily take that trade, and think I had the better end of it. Unfortunately, I only trade in person (and you don't seem to live in Columbus). But if you ever swing through here, I'd be happy to do it. There may be a small Venn diagram issue, but that's a really generous offer that I'm sure someone will take.

I've had one recently, and it was still absolutely fantastic. The flavors are all still there. Then again, I don't have the most refined palette, but it tasted amazing to me.

I tried to do that trade recently and got nowhere.

I would respectfully disagree. I've had all of them(aside from BB4D) on the same night, and I think CBS is head and shoulders above them all. I've had CBS in pretty much every available variation(original brewing on draft fresh, original brewing on draft when bottles came out, new brewing on draft, new brewing from growlers, new brewing in bottles), and it has knocked my socks off every time that I've had it.

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I didn't have to post this ISO - it's taken care of already.

I am wondering though what kind of bottles would land CBS 1:1 - would KH, BT, Kate 12oz do it?

One of the weirdest barrel aged imperial stouts I've had. It was incredibly smooth, had little to no bourbon character, and tasted like a Double chocolate fudge brownie. I loved it but it was one of the hardest beers to review.

    I wouldn't take that trade.
