New Glarus- Enigma

 

A local bock, re-born....from a bad ass vintage "bockzilla" glass.....good day, BA's!

 

And, even though my local Akron boys - The Black Keys, didn't walk away with any Grammy's the other night, they still rock it......enjoy !

 

Had my first one only last week and had three more since then. Delicious, on of my favorites.

 

Three Brothers- 2nd Anniversary barrel aged barleywine.

 

One of the best beers we've had in quite some time. So, so bitter, but in all the right ways.

Looking forward to a March beer run to Cleveland! Do you know if the glass will be reissued or does the Godzilla copyright cover that as well?

 

That "Bockzilla" glass is at least 20 years old.....from the original Western Reserve Brewing co. in Cleveland; Black Box Brewing in Westlake bought the rights to several now defunct local beers / breweries, including this one.....I do not think they have any plans to re-issue the glass, but not 100% sure....I sent them a pic of the glass earlier when I heard they were going to re-release it....

Just got off a 24h shift, rewarding myself with a big beer. I was saving this for a special occasion, but what's more special than a random Tuesday in February? Huge thanks to the generous BA @pauljrinaldijr for sending this over in a trade!

After a night of hard work, my morning is worth a Deuce!

 

Good morning BAs! Another non-snowing day here in the high Arctic of NW PA. The snow piles are slooowly subliming from my yard in preparation for the next several inches I'll blow from my driveway following the next snowfall. Spent a nice quiet day yesterday at jury selection and only got selected for one case - that really screwed up my drinking schedule.

Today, for NBT (New Beer Tuesday), I've added a beer in a style I like (Weizenbock) from a brewery which frequently disappoints me (Southern Tier). I believe I've lamented previously that I WANT to like them since they're pretty local (about 70 miles away) but the beer-joyment just isn't happening. I've tried 21 of their brews (Eight reviewed on BA) and have only found three worth my time, money, and hepatocytes. This isn't one of them. Oh well - no goats, no glory.

 

Wow. Just wow. I love me a grapefruit beer and this is one of the, if not the best. Well played Ballast Point.
