I'm with you on this one...I don't think they understand why people buy VIP tickets

Maybe they are targeting the Bobby Bottleservice uptown crowd. If it's VIP it's got to be better. Why? Because it's VIP man!

Not to be disagreeable, but they are just starting out. I don't think comparing the event to Community's Ann or a very large, multiple brewery festival is fair. It is steep, don't get me wrong.

Has anyone tried their beer? Very few ratings, but they're good ratings.

We get they are just starting outs. But, why charge that much? What do you get for those extra $30+? You have early entry to fests so you can get to try the rare beer without lines.

It's not a fest though. And they don't have any rare beers. lol

Again, I agree it's way too steep and the VIP makes no sense. Hell maybe I am being disagreeable. FU Aschwab! :grinning:

I've had a couple of their beers, and I think this is waaaay over-priced. So far, imho, their beers are average at best.

Even the GA price seems a bit ridiculous.

Stopped by their taproom yesterday. Flights were $8 and pints were $5. Their beer was alright. Didn't care for the porter at all, but thought the amber was decent.

I think its stupid to charge money for people to come to a grand opening. Unless this brewery has some sort of crazy following that I dont know about, why charge? Cant Texas sell beer at taprooms now? Isent that enough? Even if I were ok with a brewery opening and selling tickets to come try their beers, that is way over priced.
Thats just my opinion on all this...

Hey, I 100% agree with you. There won't be "rare" beer, so why get in early?

$33 for 3 beers is fucking ridiculous. Don't care what brewery you are. Let alone a Grand Opening for an unknown Dallas brewery trying to spur attention and get recognition. The event should be free or $10-$15 max.

They might be trying to offset the cost of the live music.

Just go to the taproom some other time if you want their beers. You don't have to wait that way either.

Agree that the price is way high. Maybe those bathrooms in the brewery are really nice.

Had a couple of their beers and they are pleasant enough. But definitely nothing I would seek out. It will be interesting if they can carve out a niche here in DFW.

    Untapped festival charges those prices.

And include actual bands that you have heard of.

Pricing for this event aside I will say they have some very good beer. Not usually an American Wheat drinker, but they have a great version that is dry hopped w/ citra that will make for a great summer beer. Also had the chance to try a berlinerweisse that they did as a pilot a while back that was freaking amazing.

Thanks for pointing that out. I avoid live and generally loud music. I certainly won't pay for it. But you make a good point.

If live music is costing them that much, then they should not be doing live music. People do not go to brewery openings for the music - they go to it for the brewery.
