Going to be in the Illinois area soon & looking for tips on trying to grab some Zombie Dust. I know Illinois doesn't get full distribution, so is Chicago the only option? Any info, advice is appreciated. Thanks

Windy City Distribution in Chicago is the only Illinois distributor according to the 3 Floyds website. So the Chicago area is probably about it for Illinois I would guess.

There were a couple of cases on the floor by the coolers at Delock's in Munster today. Bottle date early Jan '15.

I can't grasp why such a highly revered and sought after brewery has such a small distribution area.

If you are going to Chicago, might as well just drive to Munster and get it straight from the source. It's less than hour from there.

    1) Brewery capacity is limiting supply
    2) Local demand is so high they see no reason to expand the distribution footprint. Why ship across more state lines when you can sell it in your backyard?

As someone who visited Chicago last summer, your best bet is to drive to Munster and buy a pint. Even there, you're not guaranteed to get any bottles to go. We visited the brewery and another couple liquor/beer stores around and didn't find any.

Second. I'm lucky enough to attend a conference in Chi Town (actually Lombard) every October. Well worth the cost of the rental car and wait in line at the brewery... Try more than the Dust.

You'll be able to score it on draft easily at either the brewery or a number of chicago craft bars. If you want a sixer, it s crap shoot if the brewery will have it to go the day you are there a number of liquor store and high-end grocery stores in Chicagoland get it, but it's a game of chess to score some. Good luck!

3F seems to very regularly update their website with what's available 'to go'.
