@uiucphoenix was the Vietnamese coffee Speedway we had BBA or not? I can't remember if it had the gold writing. Cheers

And the 7th looks good to me. I will run it by Flav and see if they are ok with the date...

I'll be in Milwuakee on the 7th, but I'm OK missing this one as long as I don't lose my spot for future gatherings. Not sure if you nailed down the theme yet, but I'm hoping it's not the ipa's. I have a vertical going of behemoth that I'd like to share when we do the barleywines...

Sweet! Now do we come up with ideas for a theme, or should we just do a free for all?

Bad news, Flavio is out of town on the 7th. And the 14th is St. Patricks Day in Chicago. How does the 21st sound?

How does everyone feel about that? Also, yea a theme would be good to establish early. I am thinking heavy winter beers.

Thanks! Now I can officially trace the genesis of my blackout to the moment I finished drinking the 2008 BCBS.

I know this isn't a mini trading forum, but I am trying to get ahold of a Upland Persimmon Lambic for a friend. Any one have a bottle they are willing to trade or a lead for someone that is?

you're not talking about the persimmon ship (jolly pumpkin/upland collab), are you? I think I saw some of that still on the shelves recently.

@fatdeets, nope. It would be a bit easier if that were the case. I am looking for the lambic that they released a bit ago. I think it was the brewery/lottery system release...

Negative, that one is nasty and thin. He is talking about the paint thinner Upland Lambic

@AndyEdgar, tell me more. Is this particular lambic known for it's paint thinner qualities? I ask because it is for a friend that is going to be experimenting with it in beer cocktails. Is there a better persimmon lambic that I should be seeking out?

I love almost all of the Upland lambics. I say paint thinner, because it is so acidic that it could strip paint off a car, not because it has anymore of that taste quality than any of the other Uplands.

as far as their lambics, I've only had the kiwi, and it is for sure the sourest beer that's ever crossed my lips.

The most recent Persimmon had some brutal acetone characteristics, I might wait for the next release.

@Jordy777, good to know. Is there another persimmon lambic that you know of that is a good example of what it should be like?
