Stouts are one of the styles that I haven't got into yet but I would like to try. (I think I might be craving this style because it's cold and snowing today ) I am open to suggestions and since I live in Colorado, I thought this might help narrow down the choices. ( A little anyways ).
    Cheers!

Ten Fidy is bad ass, but since you are in CO, you've got a lot of other great local options that don't get distro in no particular order: Hammer & Sickle from Renegade; Quit Stalin from Comrade; Liquid Brain from Bull & Bush; Lugene from Odell; Chocolate River from Trinity... etc etc

Ten fidy is the king. And the BA version is maybe the best beer I've ever had so start there. But the yeti series is also really good. If you can lay hands on the Avery stuff you should. Yes it's worth it. Even if just once. And if it's gonna be an all day thing, I'd look at some of the porters. Odell's cutthroat gets overlooked IMO. Also shake from boulder is nice and the new portage from NB is solid. I think I just talked myself into partaking. It is cold.

Since your in Colorado, Great Divide's Yeti and its variants are a good option.

My top picks at the moment..

    1. Mephistopheles (Avery)
    2. TenFidy (Oskar Blues)
    3. Yeti [any kind] (Great Divide)
    4. The Czar (Avery)

Lugene is on the top of my list to try. Odell's IPA is one of my favorites

Odell Cutthroat Porter is very good. I really enjoyed it when I was in FoCo for a conference last year.

Mind you, if I was in Colorado, I'd be drinking Myrcenary often. That is a truly excellent DIPA. I enjoyed Odell's the most out of the FoCo breweries.

As others have said: Mephistopheles, The Czar and Tweak by Avery; any of the Yetis by Great Divide; and Ten Fidy by Oskar Blues.

I'll also add: Out of Bounds Stout by Avery; and the Milk Stout and Wake Up Dead by Left Hand.

You can't go wrong with any of those!

You should probably ask this question in the Mountain forum if you want more responses.
IMO, it probably depends on what kind of stout you're looking for. I mean, they range from 5% with a mild roasty sweetness to 18% and aged in who knows what.
Most people are naming off the huge ones, so I'll go the opposite route and name more drinkable ones:
Hogshead Gilpin Black Gold, Comrade Koffee Kream, Backcountry Breakfast Stout, Bull and Bush Stonehenge & Ice Cream Clone, Avery New World Porter, TRVE Stout 0)))), Copper Kettle Mexican Chocolate, Dry Dock Vanilla Porter, Black Shirt Red Porter, & OB Velvet Elvis.

+1 Hammer and Sickle. I think it's better than Ten FIDY., and that's saying something.

all excellent suggestions. I'll add to this any stout Copper Kettle makes. They seem to specialize in flavored stouts.

Left Hand's Milk Stout, Backcountry's Breakfast Stout, Bristol's Winter Warlock for some non-imperial stouts. If open to porters, Odell's Cutthroat Porter.

    Some non-packaged ones:
They seemed to be tweaking the recipe with different batches the last few times I had tried it, but Equinox's Mr. D's Oatmeal Stout might be my favorite Colorado stout.
Horse & Dragon's Sad Panda Stout
    Comrade's Koffee Kream
    TRVE's Stout-O))))

Whoa, whoa whoa. Just whoa. And no. haha. Ten Fidy is a hundred times better IMO, and I think Renegad in general is, ok.
