I have had numerous barleywines that were thin on carbonation. Many of them being world class ones.

Ya know... I couldn't be sure... But, I THINK you might be using sarcasm here. Can you confirm?

I've never had a super carbonated barleywine. Hell, I wouldn't want one.

On topic, I'll be there for this one.

Why go to extremes. No one is saying that they want a super carbonated barleywine. Just don't want one the is flat as shit either.

If your shit is excessively flat, you should consider a change in diet.

A sphincter transplant might also be beneficial.

That just makes no sense. Good try though

A Gratitude thread without mention of a past flat Gratitude bottle would be like an episode of American Idol within singing.
Even if it's completely unrelated to the issue at hand.

I think practically all my favorite barley wines pour almost or completely flat:

    JW Lees Vintage Harvest Ale
    Xyauyu
    Great (very minimal)
275th Anniversary (amazing and also from PA)
mast majority of everything from HOTD

However, I am a straight up Barleywine fiend and especially of those of the English variety.

I have all vintages so it is a super big ISO for me with the BA, and the normal version. I have some really limited Belgian lambics back here in Sweden and I will make sure I get a trade out of this!

I'm sure someone will take you up on this. Shipping to Sweden sounds a little scary though.

I've said it before and I'll say it again and again and again -- Gratitude is one of the most underrated barleywines out there. What they achieve without the use of a bourbon barrel in a 10%+ ABV barleywine is truly unique. For an American Barleywine, it has ridiculous balance.

And the original packaging, which ended with the 2013 run, is simply my favorite in beer.

Touché! I can't think of a greater one. It's a real travesty they are abandoning it.

Sucks, but I get it. It has to be an insane amount of work.

They had a lot of volunteers come in to do it though. So it wasn't all them.

I do hope that they at least do a different label each year, a slight variation like before.

And hopefully something a bit spicier than the Homewood Reserve labels. ZZZ...

Looking forward to this release! I think last year there was a bottle share in t line the morning of the release. Is that normally the case? Anyone have an idea of what time is needed to arrive for this release?
