Quite a lineup of potential brews on their website!

While I do rail upon the every upward price points, it seems much higher than it is, $25 per bottle. With that being said... $25 a bottle right out of the gate is damn near ridiculous. Unless you are Vinnie Cilurzo or Patrick Rue and this is a side project, you have no foundation to be pricing your beer like that.

I wish them well but I don't believe the neighborhood will let them build a brewery there. From my experience with the dealing with the city government officials it will probably bring in more congestion and I bet the neighborhood will likely not find the smell appealing. Just my two cents.

I would have thought the same thing on the price per bottle, but after seeing all of the $20 bottles of Lunker, a beer no one had ever tried before, sell out in a half half hour, it wouldn't surprise me to see this work. People seem to be willing to pay whatever price it seems.

A pedigree had already been established with MoaS. Also, steel toe had released other brews that established their reputation as a brewery.

You're right, Steel Toe had a solid reputation going, but $20 a bottle is still a hefty price for a bottle of beer. Can't remember how many bottles they had for Lunker, but it's pretty incredible that they were all gone in 30 minutes.

I won't be, but I'm sure there will be people willing to pay the $25 price tag on these beers.

I think it's great that there'll be some wild/sour beers in Minnesota, but I can't get passed the price. The lineup looks awesome though.

I love the look of the line up, but having to commit to it all up front at those prices, I just can't pull the trigger. There are several I'd really like to try though, but they also could go very wrong.

The price is crazy, but the beers sure do look interesting, and I believe they will mostly be good. A thought crossed my mind: I'd be willing to split a membership--6 ways, 8 ways, whatever, with the understanding that all bottles would be shared at tastings. This would give more people a chance to try the beers (and perhaps purchase excess bottles if it was that good) without having to foot the entire $300. It would also encourage frequent tastings. 51 days to think about it!

If you go the Kickstarter route, the membership is down to $275.

I spent about 4hrs on mothers day at a bar talking with Brian Schanzerbach, Brewmaster about sour beers and sour cider. He also has a great education and work back ground, which made it great to pick his brain about techniques and ingredients.

    Best of Luck Blacklist!

Now to ask the wife for $1200......

Jason was a brewer for Pelican who makes a world class barrelled barleywine originally called "Perfect Storm," but later renamed "Mother of all Storms." He brewed that so it was well established that he knows how to brew a nice bbw.

Why isn't it "MoAS"? What did the word "all" ever do to you to be so diminished? Free the Caps! Free the Caps!

Hi guys, Jon from Blacklist here. This project and kickstarter campaign are not so much a value-based proposition as they are patronage. I would agree that the "price" is high per bottle of beer but this is a more or less a capital campaign. If successful Blacklist will also have beer available in the standard "off-the-shelf-model" as well, priced to market, but they will not be the same ones as the membership program. They will probably be sours, but we want the people who support us early to have something special.

We are trying to establish a brewery/project thats first priority are these types of beers. Our goal isn't to get huge, hire a large staff, cut deals with distributors and so on. Our goal is the let a very talented brewer practice his craft as he sees fit and make a living at it. Small scale, hard work, lots of love. Just like your grandmas special sauce, assuming your grandmother is an Italian stereotype.

So if these are values you also believe in, we hope you considering pledging and helping us start something unique.

Ok. I like it, however, before I cut you a blind check (for a pretty good chunk of change) can we hear about some "Chops"?

One of your team went to Seibel and the other is a Cicerone. Do either of you have any real world experience in the brewing or business world? Brewer...have you ever worked at a production brewery before? Cicerone...have you ever sold beer or run/operated a business before? You are both asking us or a considerable investment without any background. Your website is quite polished looking. However, it lacks any facts that sell me on your competence as brewers or business owners. I have met a fair number of culinary school students who should have "served their time" as line cooks or prep cooks (or even dishwashers) before assuming they were ready to be in charge of a kitchen.

I'm not trying to be rude. I am honestly curious about how you plan on succeeding in today's MN marketplace. There seems to be some pretty serious growing pains when people without experience try to brew on a production scale in today's climate. I'm not willing to shell out the kind of $$$ you are asking for if I cannot expect an excellent product for my $$$.
