Has anyone had this happen? You try a new beer from a unfamiliar brewer and it's AWFUL...now you're a little shy to try anything from the same brewer because of the proverbial leftover 'bad taste in your mouth'...
Victory Golden Monkey was my spoiler.

Haha, haven't had that happen, but I can imagine Golden Monkey doing just that.

Ive had this happen a few times, and didn't drink anything from those breweries for a while, but most times at some point I go back and try something else from them.

Weyerbacher - Last Chance IPA... just didn't like it... would buy about 30 other IPAs, then convince myself it is a Pilsner night if Last Chance was all they had...

Mostly new local breweries and it's more of a one flight spoiler.

This happened to me with Societe. A bar near me had two of their Belgians last year. I tried them both and hated them. I went to the brewery last week and was mad I didn't try their other beers sooner.

Dude, I had the same problem with Golden Monkey when I was first getting into craft. It put me off of Victory for a bit, but what a mistake that was. Victory is awesome. Please go drink their beer!

In my defense, I think the Golden Monkey was pretty old. My friend's uncle gave it to him, and he had it for a while before we tried it.

Knee Deep. Got a Simtra as an extra in a trade. Might have let it sit for a tad too long because it wasn't an old bottle by my standards, but it tasted old as heck. Now Knee Deep's here in NYC, but I'm leery now. I've been disappointed enough times on DIPAs to be a stickler for freshness, and I don't know just how fresh the product will be when it reaches me if it's coming all the way from the west coast.

P.S. - If you're the person I traded with, you're still cool. Not your fault!

I second Weyerbacher, their Winter Ale ruined me from buying anything they make. I will say that when when their Imperial Pumpkin comes out that i'll snag a 4 pack, only because it's my girlfriends favorite beer.

I haven't had a beer to brewery association issue, but I've had a beer to style association. I had a god awful dopplebock a few months back and i've completely stayed away from the style since then. I know it's all in my head and I'll eventually go back, but my god, was that awful.
