Just got home from a long day of brewing, bottling, and garage (brewery) organization. My wife was pissed at me and I just figured it was because I was gone all day again. But, nope, that wasn't it. It was because of a huge ass box that she had to drag in from the what used to be my porch. For the life of me I couldn't figure out who the box would be from. I look at the label.... Huh??? No, couldn't be. @LehighAce06 ? SixterCan? WTF??? Why the hell do you need this big of a box for 6 cans of beer? Seriously? Pron to follow after I figure out what the hell you just did to me.

 

And even their sours...

 

So yeah, SixterCAN is not quite like Sixterhood where the box is exactly big enough for 6 items.... this is more of a 'normal BIF' sized box, the 'theme' of which is the interior box with 6 cans. Admittedly there's a fair amount of empty space inside that thing. Looking forward to the pron

Okay, time for the SixterCAN ****.

I opened up the box and saw this. Interesting.... Three interior boxes of three different sizes.



I pulled out the three interior boxes and checked them over. The medium sized box was marked "six cans" so I decided to open it first since that is what I thought was the idea behind this themed box. Here is what it contained:

Superbowl night I shared my only Regular Coffee with a friend. Loved it and instantly wished I hadn't decided to share. Now I don't have to! One all to myself.
Excited to finally get to try Nugget Nectar, that one has escaped me until now.
Nice six pack of cans. This is on the order of what I thought I had signed up for. But, wait, there is more....


Then I opened the small box marked "glass" and the big box marked "extras". Here is what they contained:

Hopslam and appropriate glassware. Been seeing everyone else drinking Hopslam and now I get to join the club.
2009 Insanity. Already aged 6 years and I didn't even have to endure the torture of it.
I have a VooDoo Daddy in the cellar that has been calling my name but have been resisting and keeping it in the cellar. Now I don't have to resist anymore and can crack that baby open.
Abrasive, ummm, yeah!
Just had a Purple Monkey Dishwasher a week ago and enjoyed it. Love PB porters.
I have seen Kevin post beer pics with the Tired Hands glass and now I have one of my own.

Oh....and then there was this buried within the "extras" box. Not going to go into details on this just yet. Gotta think about this one. Hmmm....

Thanks Kevin, this was definitely a surprise and very unexpected. Filling this box back up is going to take some thinking and planning. The signup for the next SixterCAN trip will be coming soon.

So.... perhaps I should have explained this ahead of time. The Challenge goes with the Challenge Bottle (I had tried to affix one to the other, perhaps in shipping something shifted).

For future trips of the SixterCAN, the person sending the box creates a challenge, wraps a "challenge bottle" (typically of higher quality/rarity/something than the rest) in such a way that what the bottle is cannot be determined until the challenge has been completed. Once the challenge is complete to its originator's satisfaction (though this is commonly presumed) then and only then can the challenge bottle be unwrwapped.

Long story short, do the challenge THEN find out what you've 'won'. If you don't do the challenge, you don't get the challenge bottle, or even knowledge of what you missed out on.

 

Last hint for my target, as box is going out on Monday!

Not sure I know how to count, I think the box is somewhere near 150oz max... It does contain all wants except 1, which is a sister to one of the others. BA average of all is 92.4, with several 100's.

Hint, Shipping North (I don't get to say that very often) to someone who wants a free Kiwi Herman.

Mettle and three versions of FPPA are all in my top 10 ratings. But Congress Street is pretty tasty too...

 

Got over to Town Hall to pick up my 750s last night and try a few barrel aged beers. Couple of huge hits in the new stuff. Couple of old favorites didn't taste right to me but maybe my palate was jacked. Still my favorite "beer event" locally here.

 

Hope my target will enjoy Westbrook brews...if not their S.O.L.
