Got there at 8:45 as well and got shut out. There must have been an absurd amount of line cutters.

    Really?
This is why people should not give definitive time advice to be in line to people.
    Did you make it?
Totally agree. Glad I skipped today.

People showing up at 8:45 and missing out? Glad I wasn't able to make this today; I had originally thought about showing up around 9-9:30...looks like it would have been mostly a waste of time.

Wow--was a late scratch for this and definitely wouldn't have been there before 9. Sorry to hear that! I know a lot of people traveled a long way for this too. Line cutting should be punishable by death imo--bullshit

If TH is going to stick with this type of release, I don't see why those "security" guys couldn't hand out wrist bands at some point during the morning.

That is insane. What #s were you in line when you got there? Was thinking about heading over today for my first bottle release experience, but now very glad I didn't. Had to be immensely frustrating, my condolences to your time spent. Is there no one from the brewery outside monitoring for any line cutting?

No such thing as bad press when it comes to a quick sellout brewery release. Trust me, TH is LOVING the hype.

After years of seeing this same thread over and over, maybe it's time to consider the possibility that TH really doesn't care about the process, as long as it sells out. I've only been to the place once (and not for a release), but I have to say I wasnt overly impressed with the customer service. The repeated release debacles reaffirm in my mind that TH gives zero shits about the release experience...they're all about the hype cycle. Oh and drawing cutesy pictures on windows to announce new tappings.

The answer to all this: stop going to their bottle releases. Stop supporting a brewery that demonstrates through its lack of action that it doesn't care about your experience at these events.

There were multiple people counting and we were roughly ~190-200 in line so most definitely cutting it short. There's no doubt in my mind that people cut in line. There really needs to be a system in place because it's absurd how many people get fucked over. I say this time and time again, they should really just do silent releases a la SARA. At least at that point, you won't have people from the tri-state area driving six hours to these releases. The locals who have supported TH from the get go shouldn't be the ones getting shut out.

Finally, some get it!!! When the same problem is said OVER AND OVER without it being addressed, you eventually realize that TH gives two shits about it and as others have said likes the hype and chaos. There is a solution to all of this and it's name is Forest and Main.

Until people vote their pocket book, nothing will change. And it won't change one bit because fanboys in Believers Club will still get in line just to get more beer to trade. They should say if you are part of Club, you get the allocation without waiting but that's it.

Sorry it was another cluster-f, but really did you expect different?

Well at 9:30 there was at least 220 behind myself (per 2 groups of guys in the back counting) so that's around 260-270, they could accommodate 227 people so yeah definitely seems like some cutting must have happened for people getting there at 8:30 to have gotten shut out.

I always enjoy reading these TH bottle release threads - especially on the day of. It's always a complete shit show, and TH refuses to do anything about it. Why people continue to take part in this foolishness is beyond me.

I went to one release solely because my friends and I were already planning on being there the day of the release. All of us got bottles while agreeing that we would never do anything like that again.

I love TH and have never had a bad experience there (except for the bottle release), but these releases are a fucking joke. Line cutters are a constant problem and the line moves just so absurdly slow. I really don't understand why people continue to pour money down TH throats for these bottles when TH clearly doesn't give a flying fuck about you or your experience during them.

I didn't make, was right around 190-200 - estimating off of rough counts, which were early. An absolute train wreck of a release. This was my first and probably last release event.

There were so many line jumpers we saw, it was insane. I know Tired Hands cannot control assholes jumping in line, but they sure as hell can control the flow of how things go with wristbands or tickets. Luckily I did not travel far, but I met a few people that drove 2 hours+ that got shut out, and I felt terrible for them.

Until they get their shit together with these releases, I would highly advise against going if you're traveling a decent amount to get there.

Sorry you got shut out. May want to consider changing your TH icon for something else until they change their policies.

Grimey, yes they can stop jumpers. It's called tickets or actually enforcing the problem. They have had one of their hipster staff outside to stop, but he is worthless. The last time I went, he simply bullshitted the whole time and could care less what anyone did.

They have to know the problem, have to know its discussed here all the time but what do they do or say? NOTHING.

See the Light that comes from our BS bottle releases and go to Forest and Main instead should be their next beer name.

First I'll start by saying, I got shut out too. Yeah, it sucks.

Now with regards to the line cutting thing. I'm not saying it doesn't happen at all, but I think that all of you are WAAAAY overstating how often it happens. People move up and down the line to talk to other friends in line, trade beer, drink beer, etc. They make runs to Wawa and IHOP and go to their cars to pour beer into coffee cups. With all of this activity, there are going to be plenty of people that are temporarily out of the line at any given time. This is why you're seeing people who were 200th (based on preliminary line counts) get shut out. Around 11:30-11:45, people will make their way back to their spot in line. That's also the time that people with folding chairs, etc go and put those things back in their cars, so it's going to give the appearance that there are a bunch of new people jumping in line when it's actually not the case.

But hypothetically speaking, let's just say that there is rampant line cutting that occurs. I've been coming to these releases for a while now, and not once can I recall an incident where someone was called out for cutting (nor have I personally seen any obvious line cutting occur). If any of you are seeing this, and not speaking up, then you're just as responsible for the problem. Next time, instead of going home and complaining on the internet, say "Excuse me, but you just got here. You need to go to the back of the line."

**EDIT** Replace all above references to beer with coffee. Lots of coffee drinkers in line.

Was considering going, but am glad I held out after reading this thread. To get shut out after an 8:45 lineup is pure craziness.

I love Tired Hands beer, but think I'll just stick to my usual Thursday jazz night appearances and leave the bottle releases alone until something changes.

Exactly. Plenty of ways to make a more pleasurable experience for their customers. But the bottom line is that they don't care. They want to sell $12,000 worth of bottles in a few hours and that's it. So the only way they'll end up changing their ways is if they don't sell out - aka people stop showing up.

So you think saying "excuse me, but you just got here. You need to go to the back of the line" will instantly result in people saying "I'm sorry, you're right. I'm a douche, let me go to the back." It happened at the Only Void and I did call the person out. You know what I got? "Chill bro, you're still going to get bottles." It is NOT people's responsibility to call people out. People did complain and TH said they would have staff outside to address. The staff is completely worthless.
