Not drainpours by any means... but my the end you're ready to wave the white flag. Some are good, some may be meh

    For me:
    1. Palate Wrecker: gasp, you say! Well, by the end of a 22 oz of this, I was all in, done for the evening.
    2. Rogue Bacon Maple Ale: I've seen the hate for this beer. At the first sip, I'm like fairly cool smoked beer with maple. At the end, I am so sick of pancakes and breakfast.
    3. DuClaw Cocoa Fuego: I underestimated how hot the beer would be.

    Any beer "work" stories?

Definitely. I had a 10oz (or it could have been 12oz) pour at a bar, and after about half I didn't really want it anymore. It tasted pretty good, but it was just too much.

I powered my way through a Sam Adams Griffin Claw once time. It was gross but it was given to me for free and I was mad broke at the time. Also, a bottle of White Oak by the Bruery was a chore to finish. Had it on-tap later and it was much better. Also, I'm not gonna lie, it was a chore to finish a Drie Fonteinen Oude Gueuze. Just wasn't ready for that intensity of funk yet. I'd like to revisit it. I've also worked my way through probably a dozen different beers that were oxidized. Early on I didn't know they were oxidized because I didn't know how to spot it. but I also drank some later on when I did know how but didn't care much.

Most of the imperial IPAs for me become work near the end.

Also really fruity beers as well. They are always great for a few sips, then after that it's just too much.

Mother of All Storms. It's an incredible beer, but it should probably only come in, like, 7.2 oz bottles.

Some people may want to cut me to pieces and throw me to the lions for this but Ayinger Celebrator. That stuff is just so dense I kinda find it hard to drink a bottle in one sitting.

Those 7.2oz bottles would cost like $8 each, but yeah, I reserve MOAS (and the Bruery anniversary beers) for those rare times when I have several consecutive hours of zero responsibility.

Guess I should mention that I find Green Bullet to be a rather tough one to finish. Most "triple" ipa's I suppose.

True, and that would probably earn them a special place on the shelves next to Avery.

Anything that is in the area of 15+% for me. Nothing is too bitter or too sweet it seems for my palate. I've never had a problem downing a whole Creme Brulee by myself in a timely fashion. The 16% He'Brew Jewbelation beer I had last weekend took almost 2 hours.

Avery Tweak. Had a 5oz pour yesterday and dont get me wrong it was a really great beer, but I feel anymore than that would have been too much.

Fort Collins Dopplebock ... 10.2% ABV it felt like it took me 4 hours to drink the bomber. Massively sweet, syrupy, boozy, dried fruits .... That was a marathon. Uh good beer though, I guess.

If I have to work to "get through " a beer it's not worth drinking.
