Well, as an area (Seattle, Bothell, Kirkland up in WA) I would say Black Raven & Triplehorn. They seem to really push the envelope in a great way with styles. As a state, I go with Sound Brewing. They specialize in some great Belgian examples and I love the Belgian styles. They are expanding too so they should be branching out to most of the state and maybe even near by states. DIPA and Tripel are two of my favs from them.

I will support any local owned brewer over Anheuser because a local brewers first instinct is to make good beer, Anheuser's is to make a profit...usually at the employees expense

There's this brewery called Tree House that I guess makes some OK beers.

Original Gravity in Milan Michigan is about as small town as it gets. 20 minutes south of Ann Arbor Michigan in a tiny town. They stick to their guns on the styles they do- mostly descendent from German recipes due to a large German migration in the area through the 1800's. They don't try to keep up with the latest and greatest beer trends, rather they have solid core of about 8-10 flagship beers, and a handful of smaller batch rotators, and a great small sandwich (made on local bread, sometimes with their own spent grain) and snack menu. They have one of the best porters around, Primordial Porter- thick as oil, roasty and chocolaty at a sessionable 5.5%. They have a great Altbier and an awesome English Dark Mild that rotates in from time to time. Not the most popular brewery around, nor the best around, but a very solid local spot.

I was in Phoenix a few weeks back, and they were my first stop. Solid beers and great burgers.

Sante Adairius. I live 15 minutes down Highway 1 from Capitola, which really doesn't suck on any level.

Three Taverns in Atlanta. Fast becoming of America's best Belgian-inspired breweries (with real Belgian roots).

I especially love their big beers Quasimodo, Heavy Bells, Feest Noel, and Theophan the Recluse. Recently enjoyed their one-off coffee dubbel, Dubbel Shot, and hope it goes into full production.

Orpheus gets an honorable mention from me. Sours and saisons aren't my favorite styles, but their quality is undeniable.

For the short period of time I've lived in Rhode Island, I'd have to say my two favorites thus far are Revival and Proclamation.

I would say Olde Hickory. But in Charlotte I seem to drink more NODA then anything else.

Perennial and 4Hands are easy picks for me but Recess(Edwardsville,IL)and Old Bakery(Alton,IL) are just getting started and are both 20 minutes away so I'm hoping for good things from them.

I'd say Olde Hickory as a whole, obviously their Stouts are world class, the hoppy stuff is better than pretty good, but there are far better hoppy brews around.
