Abyss in h-town

    Bay Area specs has about a case of abyss just sitting out on the shelves. I grabed two like a good beer advocate.

    A bit pricey this year...17.99 each.

    Which is weird because I thought I paid right around the same price last year. Maybe they increased the bottle count for 2014?

    I paid top dollar fit it once before, was disappointed, won't pay top dollar for it again. Maybe if I see it on the clearance shelf .

    abyss is worth it for 15-18 bucks, i saw it online for 28 a bottle before shipping which was kind of outrageous

    Heard outside the loop was delivered it first. Have no idea why. Their distribution co in Houston isn't the smartest of the bunch. I've dealt with them for a few years now and without getting into specifics, they are not the most reliable in the biz

    I saw abyss the other day at an HEB. Not paying >$14 though. Several were left on the shelf when I left.

    Would I prefer to pay less? Yes. $18 isn't terrible in my opinion. I still picked up a couple... that being said, if it was <15$, I probably would have bought more than a couple...

    I mean the FWXVIII that just blew through town cost me 26$+tax for a bottle...

    About a week and a half ago, Specs on Hulen in Fort Worth had it.

    I said something earlier this year about Abyss becoming a shelf beer (Found it on the shelf last year). Our market is becoming more and more saturated. As much as I hate it, Firestone Walker likely has a good approach by sending only 1-2 "cases" per store...

    So... Do you like the chase more than the taste? I really see no problem with having shelf beers that are awesome.
