Ah, was just going to post about this. I've become a huge fan of the Lil Sumpin, Sumpin Ale from Lagunitas but had one of these stouts last night. Normally not a big stout drinker but this was very smooth, not overly bitter and the coffee really comes through. The 9.2% ABV is also a nice bonus on a cold night.

One of my all time favorites, and in my opinion this latest batch is drinking the best I've had fresh, can't wait to see how it ages.

I agree. I liked their IBB and EMJ a lot but never held onto any extras of either one. Tried this one last weekend and was very surprised (no IBB or EMJ but still very satisfied). I was happy to find a few more bottles to hold onto

Fieldwork Coffee Stout from a growler. Fantastic stuff. Just opened in Berkeley. I had a Founders Breakfast Stout the other night, and this could go pound-for-pound, in my opinion.

I just did a side by side between this year's and last year's batches. This was so good when fresh, but the year aged version was smooooooooth. Keep as much of the 4 pack as you can!

The salmon actually turned out good, despite the 600 degree, 2 ft high grill fire that occurred . One thing I can't mess up is the fresh GF Sculpin. Mmmm Mmmm good and pairs nicely with charred salmon.

we have better access to evil twin than most people do (being in downstate NY)... EMJ is pretty much a shelf beer here. (I'm so grateful for that!) That being said, I never saw this brew, and am not sure how my friend found it. (I whined last month that I was jonzing for good blueberry and coconut brews... all I ever find is substandard stuff. So, he just gave a me a box with several real gems, including this beer... I'm very lucky and thankful to him.)
