Does anyone else think of the movie Trading Places when they read/hear the word escargot?

This is probably old hat for most, but we don't have any crowler stations anywhere near me. Are they significantly better than the 32 oz growlers? I'm wondering why I haven't started to see crowlers in my area at all. I know some South Jersey places have them, but nothing near me.

 

Most of the time I like the crowler, but I have had them leak if they don't take care of their machine

 

All things being equal and assuming no leak, would you go with the crowler over the 32 oz growler?

 

I would for shipping, no question. For my own fridge it'd depend on what kind of growler fill; counterpressure > crowler > co2 purge > no purge.

 

Sounds like crowler it is, since very few places do counterpressure. Vast majority, at least near me, is no purge.

 

Then yeah, crowler it up. Besides potential leakage, it comes down to oxygen exposure, counterpressure there's 0 as long as it's filled to the brim, crowler there's some but only as much as the surface of the top, purge there's whatever gets in after purging, and no purge is well, all oxygen.

 

Hey, it could have been worse -- somebody could have actually shipped one of those cute kids (or worse, one of those cute puppies) that we've all seen.

I think no matter what the total is, if you look at things objectively we all look like idiots anyway...

To my target....Havin' a hell of a time deciding exactly what I want to send. Either way, I'll hit as many wants as I can. There's a local brewery here in Lexington, KY called Country Boy. They just had their 3rd Anniversary a couple weeks back. They had some limited bottle releases (roughly 250 each) of their Barreled Black Gold Porter. The releases were Orange Rum Truffle, Mexican Chocolate and Espresso Beans. If you like this status and comment which one you would like to try, it will find its way into your box. If not...who knows.

 

So far we have the following numbers guessed:
1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 29, 30, 36, and 43

Again, I'm on my cell phone so I could have made a mistake or missed a guess. I think I've listed them all so far though
