You should go in early May in that case. Then you'll have some JK goodies for late May

Austin was alright, would've been a lot better if it wasn't 40 degrees and raining the whole time I was there!

@UTvols05 I would second the 6th St recommendation along with Rainey St, depending on how raucous of a group you've got.

JK was the only brewery we made it to, definitely a cool spot and probably the most informative brewery tour I've ever been on. On a nice day I could definitely see spending an afternoon there with a few pizzas from next door.

I tried a smattering of other local beers, the only one that really impressed me was Live Oak Hefeweizen, but I'm pretty spoiled where I'm at.

I'd love to share that with you, bringing it to the locals BS might be a good idea actually. I'm really looking for one though as some guys here in the Lancaster area are putting together a small share with Rare, Prop, VR, and all the other variants. They're just missing Bramble and that's be my ticket to get in on that. I knew it was a long shot but I figured I'd shake the bushes and see if any fell out.

While we're on the topic of all these Texans, are any of you interested in travelling to Maryland for The Locals Bottle Share 1.0 on the 2nd? @EA728, @Clarkson, @rspauldi, @ajaylock, @cultclassic89

Or anyone else that is not yet in the BM thread?

Is that because I didn't tag you, or because you can't make it? If the former, you're most certainly 'in'.

Alright folks, round 1 is over. Escargot Lif winner is @valrxman with the guess of 36!
I had 40 of those things! Btw, I ate a ton of duck, alligator sausage and all the other yummy food items they had that day as well... But the escargot were my favorite
Yes I understand 40 is a lot of snails, but they were incredible! Also, not a lot of people were eating them and I didn't want them to go to waste lol

Round 2 will be up shortly!

My 8 year old loves escargot. He had it on a cruise as an appetizer and asked for 2nds. He loves telling his friends that he ate snails.

That is a crapload of snails. You personally decimated an entire snail village.

    @valrxman that's so cool!
I've had escargot many times in my multiple visits to France, but never had them (beer) battered, or deep fried whatsoever.
The FW double jack and the spices they used were perfect

    Dear Locals,
I have a friend who needs some advice. I am asking here because it is somewhat beer related. My friend lost his wedding ring. It turns out he sent it by mistake in a ninja box. So, here is the question. How does he tell his wife that he found the ring in Texas? Or does he just say that he found it in the pocket of some old jeans. Please help my friend.
    Thanks,
    Dumb Ass in Florida

Lmao I would just tell her exactly how it happened! (Unless she won't be amused by that at all...)

Get it back. Have it polished (rush). Tell wife it was being polished and it'll look as good as new

Dear Dumb Ass in Florida - tell your "friend" that honesty is the best policy and to buy her a necklace.
