Going to be visiting Chicago (staying near Wrigley) for the first time in July....

Will be hitting the more known breweries like Pipeworks, Revolution, Half Acre, Local Option, etc....any smaller breweries worth checking out? Also, looking for some advice as to the best bars and bottle shops?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If only people could use the search function like they're supposed to, instead of being lazy assholes.

Rough crowd OP. I'd say if you could, Dryhop Brewers are stellar. Corridor should be open by then (and its by the same developers as Dryhop.) I'd say ExitStrategy would be worth a stop as well(although it's opening a little bit away from wrigley). LOVE me some HalfAcre taproom, Begyle's brewery and taproom will be open by then(right now just a growerfill station). Piece is amazing as well. There's plenty more in the Burbs if you have a rental car!

Lagunitas is well worth a visit!!
If you’re looking for something nonbeery to do, I recommend the Chicago Architectural boat cruise. Great way to learn about the city, catch some rays and soak-up some incredible scenery!

Also summer is streetfest season. Check out Metro Mix to see what is going on when you are in town.
    Have a great time!

As long as you stay out of Wrigley Field, you should beok.

By the way, I believe Pipeworks has plans for opening a shop for growler fills and stuff.

This isn't a crazy or a well known spot but if you are wanting to stay local to Wrigley, Atlas Brewing isn't bad.I really liked the bartender we had, he was really into their beers and pretty good food. No Revolution or Half Acre but a nice stop if you want a more local feel.

Make sure to try the Space IPA at half acre, taproom only and one of my absolute favorite beers.

Since others have covered the beer aspect pretty well, I'm gonna recommend a few burger places, in case you like a good burger.

    (no order)

    1) Au Cheval - Very solid tap list, and out of this world burgers. Frequently voted the best burger in Chicago, and you can usually get Alpha King and Union Jack (among others) on tap here.

    2) Kuma's/Kuma's Too - Another great tap list, and one of the most famous burger places here, with a bunch of weird options. A little thicker than I like my burgers (I prefer multiple thin patties personally), but very good.

    3) Deuces and the Diamond Club - Bear with me on this one--I think the place itself is really douchey on weekends (I call it "Douches" for that reason), but it's on Clark near Wrigley, has a decent tap list and has phenomenal burgers (the food there is done by Edzo's, which is a burger place from the burbs). I wouldn't go there at clubbing hours, but I went on a Friday at like 6pm, and it was empty, so I got my cheeseburger with garlic butter on the bun (oh yeahhh) with no hassle.

    4) Lockdown - I actually haven't been here, but it's another one in the vein of Kuma's (I believe one of the original Kuma's guys branched off)

    5) Bad Apple - This one is kitty corner from Half Acre, so you might want to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Great taplist, and on Wednesdays they serve wagyu burgers (best cut of steak EVER).

    6) DMK - Another place with an excellent tap list and fantastic burgers, with a lot of different options. Probably a stop or two away by Brown Line from where you're staying.

One more quick note: Since you're gonna be near Wrigley, I'd head down Clark to the Binny's there, and head west on Addison to West Lakeview Liquors, if you're looking for convenience. My preference is always Lincoln Park when it comes to Binny's (so if you go to Goose Island, give that one a shot), but it may be slightly out of your way.
