Seriously. All I hear about is how much that beer sucked or tasted like shit, with no acknowledgment of credit where credit is due, which is creativity and experimenting. Having fun. That's why so many people bash Short's on this site, and why so many general/mild beer fans love Short's. Yes, when you experiment some things hit and some miss. Instead of bitching, why don't you just have fun and enjoy the ride. If that's not your bag, then don't buy beer with unorthodox ingredients on the label.

The highest rated non-adjunct brown ale with more than 500 ratings (<10%) is DFH Indian Brown at 4.10.

I've enjoyed all of the planets so far. People that aren't even trying them based on what other people are saying aren't doing the beers justice. Taste is highly subjective people! Just because Tom, dick, and Harry didn't like it doesn't mean you won't. Are all of the planets the kings of the styles they represent? No. For my taste they've all been solid to good. Do yourselves a favor, if availability permits, try one of each from this fun series, after all fortune favors the bold. Cheers bells! Keep up the good work!

It's just the silly bourbon barrel everything/crazy hop everything crowd that doesn't like the style choices. They've all been good beers.

Venus was really bad. I would seriously take any macro lager over that any day.

I hated it and was shocked by it. I think it about sealed the deal on the planetary series for me.

You were shocked that a blonde ale brewed with honey, apricot, and cardamom tasted like... honey, apricot, and cardamom? Crikes you people amaze me. This is almost as bad as the other people saying that Jupiter tasted like a brown ale. If you don't like the style, don't buy the beer.

As is evident in my review, the beer tasted like a beginner's homebrew. Frankly, it amazes me that you ignore the fact that the beer has atrocious ratings (3.2 overall) off nearly 750 reviews. And, "you people"? Lol. However, you are from Michigan. So either you had a very clean and fresh sample since I assume you're close, or you have some degree of local bias.

I didn't waste any time looking for any of them. They are still Turding in my bottle shops.

Mars was uberly hyped so it came in at $10 a bottle and went out as a near $10 drain pour. By far the worst of them so far.

Venus was nice, and because of the underwhelming entrance of Mars, the price was down to $12 a sixer. Beer over all was like the price. Fair enough.

Mercury was an okay base beer but over all it was underwhelming, especially the 4.8 % factor. Price was $10 a sixer.

Three strikes and you are out. I've got plenty of other beers on the market that deserve my money and time. I see no need to waste any other time trying this planet series. If I see one turding in the future maybe I will look back and try but not all that motivated to do so given the offerings thus far. The only one I would be likely to try going forward is the very last Mystical Stout. Doubting it will be mystical but they can make a stout properly.

Nah I just thought it was a decent beer. I think I gave it like a 3.5. The ratings in general favor stouts and IPAs way more than they should so I'm not surprised at 3.2. I mean I'm not going to say Venus was an amazing beer, but I wouldn't call it trash, either. I think the only craft beer I had recently that I'd really call trash was some brewery in Ohio where all their beers tasted like wort.

    Yeah almost everyone loved Mars.

Drak it side by side with Oracle. I actually think I prefered Mars slightly. But both were increadible. I wish they would brew Mars again.

I liked Venus :slight_frown: lol. Tasted exactly like they said it would. Plus I hear its starting to sour which will only improve it in my opinion.

How much is everybody paying for Jupiter? I think I got ripped off at 5.99 per bottle.

Here in northeast Ohio I think Jupiter is something like $2.89. I have heard some places making it up so I'm not surprised.

After having Chillwave recently I thought that reminded me of Mars.
