Brew Trips!

Did Portland in October, and hitting San Diego this April - can't wait!

I'm skeptical about anywhere beating Portland, but we'll see.....

 

Spent Nov and Dec on the road.( 8 1/2 weeks total) Covered a lot of ground and made it from the east coast to the west coast and a dozen or more states in between. Damn weather was nasty the whole time. Looking forward to hitting the road again when the weather breaks.

I'm in the greater-Tucson area right now. Will probably do another trip later this year, but not yet sure where we'll go. Maybe a pub crawl from Michigan to Florida and back, or maybe a trip to Virginia.

 

I'll be heading up to Kern River for a quick weekend trip in a few weeks to check out the goods up there. I've heard so many great things about their Citra Double IPA I'm excited to get my hands on it!

 

I'm actually in the middle of planning one at the moment for later this month, as a birthday trip. We're thinking about Grand Rapids for a couple days and a day in Grand Haven, with a minimum of visiting Founder's, Brewery Vivant, as well as Odd Sides.

On a much larger scale, Munich may be in the cards later in the year.

Earlier in the year we made a quick day trip to Frankenmuth. It wasn't all about visiting the brewery, but that was a portion of the trip.

 

Cigar City and Cycle in a month. Hopefully Great Taste of the Midwest and 3rd year in a row for GABF. Did a 10 Day PNW trip last year and would love to get back to Bend. I will most likely visit Surly or Lagunitas (Chicago) at some point as well.

 

Haha Second Annual Vermont Beer Mania week is being planned for June. A Massachusetts trip planned sooner. And of course it is necessary to visit my son often as possible who goes to school a half hour from Hill Farmstead.

 

Will be heading to London, Brussels, and Stockholm in October. Of course Brussels isn't on the itinerary, but I have yet to take a trip to Europe where at some point I didn't say, "I'm this close, I should probably make a stop in Belgium".

 

did a brew trip for my 30th with the wife a few weeks back - three floyds, 18th st, and new glarus. Also hit some awesome Chicago bottle shops....it was awesome!

 

Annual Michigan vacation always involves 3-4 breweries in SW MI but this year I'll be able to hit Short's as well.

 

I'm going to Miltenberg, Bamberg, Ausfeß, Regensburg and Salzburg in June.

 

Headed to Vancouver BC in a couple of weeks, then have to NYC next month, Salt Lake in July, and possibly Vermont in December.

Could be an epic year, might need to rob a bank to pay for it.

 

Heading to Asheville to visit my recently relocated father (great choice, Dad!)


i've heard their breweries are on par with those of Fort Collins, so I couldn't be happier to check some of them out and, of course, spend time with my old man.
