Everybody is stepping up their avatar game lately -- your new one goes great with your Massachusetts trip...

 

OK -- let's see if I can post some pRon before I get distracted by more notifications... my target in the previous round of this was @valrxman, who asked if I was interested in any Florida beers. I mentioned Funky Buddha, and to keep it brief (for a change), here's what showed up today ...



The top row of cans are Miami Brewing Company Big Rod Coconut Ale and Due South Category 5 IPA-- nice!

The bottom two cans are a pair of Cigar City Jai Alai aged on White Oa, not quite #lehighfresh but less than a month old -- I'm drinking one of them now, and like it better than the regular Jai Alai I've had in the past. I'm not sure if that is the White Oak (it has a Vanilla flavor) or the freshness -- and it actually doesn't even really taste like an IPA to me

The bottles are all Funky Buddha -

Floridian Hefeweizen- I'm not a big hefe fan, but I'm sure this is a good one

Hop Gun IPA- I AM a big IPA fan, and this one will go soon

And the last two are both amazing and by themselves would have been an amazing box ...

Funky Buddha Last Snow- 100% on BA, new release, what can I say (except the picture would be more appropriate on the Big Rod Ale)

and

Funky Buddha Maple Bacon Coffee Porter - quite possibly my #1 want right now.

I'm saving the last two to share, and definitely looking forward to them.

The best part of something like this is I will probably end up loving the Hop Gun or Category 5, which you guys probably take for granted..

 

I don't recommend pushing it too far, but what you are doing isn't illegal in the true sense. You aren't reselling the beer you aren't transporting the beer and you aren't giving it to a minor. Sure there is some Federal laws against shipping beer, but after you give it to Fed Ex it is no longer in your possession. There is a lot of grey area there. In fact an argument could be made that Fed Ex is the one doing the illegal act as they are in possession of the box and they are doing the transporting.

Now on the other hand they ARE destroying YOUR property. That is illegal and if you pressed the situation it would be an interesting case.

Even if we accept the premise that you shipping beer is illegal that has nothing to do with them destroying your property. Those are two different and separate actions. Now they might say in the fine print if you attempt to ship beer they can destroy your property, which then via a contract they would be within their rights to do but absent that you would totally have a case if you went to the Fed Ex place and they told you they destroyed your property.

I would at least take it to a manager and tell him I'm recording the call where he says he's destroying my property. He may at least give in to let you pick it up. Fed Ex figures that holding the line will work for 98% of the people and those people will walk away. Show them you aren't backing down and I'll bet you'll get some managers to at least let you pick it up.

I don't know, if you like coconut then I can only assume you will LOVE that snow. I had problems drinking because I didn't want to stop smelling it! BTW that cat 5 is from due south brewing.

 

Yep I credited Due South in my original post. Are these considered South Coast IPA's?

 

Both of those are awesome and underrated IMHO.

Same problem I had last night. The nose on that beer is ridiculous.

So I did a #picksomeupformebro and the guy gave me a bcbcs 14 and a NG enigma for thank you beers so now I really need one more coffee so I can have one "fresh" and age one. Just awesome he tossed me a coffee. Just had to share my joy

 

This was EXACTLY what I was getting it, though you spelled it out considerably better than I.

This is no different than when you call the cable company to complain about how high your bill is, if you just say "oh, well ok" when they tell you "too bad", you're in the same spot as when you called. If you bitch and give them shit (polite but stern is the key) and don't back down, you WILL get a better price and probably a better package of service to go with it.

I see that now, I guess I just skimmed over it in anticipation of opening my next bottle. Who am I to think the infamous @Mikexw would make a mistake anyway! I'm scared to toast your checkins on untappd due to the repercussions the enforcer will bring upon me!

Anyways #VBS thanks to the one and only @Dave_Treat This is definetly top 2-3 in the IPA category for me! I wish I could give you guys a better description but I haven't started taking my beer classes yet.

I'm in the same boat. I have an idea, but I've been a bit overwhelmed at the pace of the hints flying so I lost track 100 or some odd pages ago.

 

I don't want any complaints if a Libertine box shows up on your porch sometime in the next couple months. Assuming I remember correctly and you were the one that was interested in Libertine when I checked in on Untappd, lol
