If anyone that was suckered into buying baller stout wants to let those go I will gladly compensate you. I still love that beer.

It was a fantastic beer, even at $50. But...you know, the whole $50 thing at the time was a bit of a sticking point. (It hung around a while as I'm sure you recall).

Agreed. I would still take a Baller Stout gladly. Passed on it when it was for sale at 2012 for like $40 because I didn't know what I was missing out on at the time. Have regretted it many times since.

 

Any info on the bus from Chicago would be appreciated

Just to be clear - it's the School Town of Munster that is in serious financial trouble, and not the Town of Munster. Two completely different animals.

 

The "extra" property that 3 Floyds bought was the grassy area where the guest taps were, along with the band stage. Last year they leased it (I believe) from the printing company that is located at the corner. 3FFFs bought the property because the one thing that the Town of Munster does have a problem with is parking - and that's what that lot will provide.

So - no difference in the size of the footprint of the event, I think. But, that nice grassy area will now be paved, so if you take a face first header this DLD, it might leave a mark!

 

Bottom line, the lack of property tax funding is the problem for the School District. To think one doesn't have an effect on the other is a stretch. Nobody moves to Munster for the notoriety or proximity to Chicago anymore. If and when they stop because school system doesn't justify the high taxes...the whole community suffers...this is definitely starting to happen. I for one am very happy Munster approved the tax abatement allowing the expansion to happen, but then again, I live in Schererville . It's not really a discussion for this forum...how about we discuss important things, like what glassware we hope to be available this year?

 

I know it's early but if anyone scores tickets and has an extra I am definitely interested

Why would they mention the newly purchased property increasing the event if it was land they had already been using for DLD. I'm guessing they acquired other plots of land in addition to where the new parking lot is going in.

Have you been there? Me thinks not...

 

There is another empty lot of land just north of the building they bought. Southwest corner of Superior and Indiana.

As well as a lot south of there at the Northeast corner of Indiana and Progress.

I have no idea if they purchased either of these or if they are even for sale. But there are more empty lots around there.
