Can someone help with the availability and packaging of the NYFRB 5% and 10%. Also, what kind of trade value they have. I just had the 5% version yesterday and now I really want to get more and even try the 10%. I have plenty to offer, but I didn't feel like putting up a trade that got ripped apart if it was way off. Thanks!

The 5.9% is widely available now through the Chicago area. all binnys got pallets and pallets full of the 5.9% a few weeks ago. You could go into any Binnys and buy at least a case or two. Some places still carried limits as of the most recent release. I know they just started distro to Ohio, but I can't speak on availability there.

The 10% was a one time release so far and Binnys had lines for it before they opened. Not sure on the allotment of it when released, but definitely a lot harder to land than the 5.9%.

basically in Illinois the 5.9%, is almost to the point of it being shelf beer

I would take the "almost" out of it. I feel like we're swimming in the stuff in the northern burbs of Chicago. My Jewel must have gotten 2 pallets of the stuff and they put a stack of cases in front of every checkout line last week plus a huge display in the beer department.

I'm with you. But it seems to be everywhere and I know a lot of people want it. I drank one bottle . . . Gave the rest as extras. And then traded more for stuff Ohio doesn't get. Nothing rare or anything. Just stuff over the 12% law we have on the books.

NYFRB is one of the few beers I repeatedly traded for in the past several weeks. I just love it. If you liked root beer, this is really a no brainer. I drink it after throwing it into the freezer for an hour or 2 to make it slushy first. They also make great extras.

The NYFRB fan boys need to try some good root beer. This stuff is nasty. Stacks of cases all around here. I gave my other 5 bottles of my 6pack to some guests. Only one person could finish their bottle.

It's good but I think I like the sprecher hard root beer better.

For everyone that hates it, send some my way. Ive been dying to try it but don't feel the need to trade for it. Hopefully ill get a bottle or 2 as an extra sometime.

Clarification - The 10% bombers have actually been released twice. First time was at the brewery and they sent the second batch of bottles to Binny's.
