Hey guys, I'm traveling to Portland for St. Paddys Day (and remainder of the week) I've been reading some of the guides you all have put up in the past and they've been super helpful - I'm super excited. I guess I was just wondering if anyone knew of anything in particular going on during St. Paddy's Day or during the rest of that week / following weekend (festivals, releases, etc.) I'll probably be heading to Bend that Thursday and Friday (tentative travel days) as well so suggestions there would be great too. Thanks in advance!
avoid horse brass. i went there a few years ago with some friends that were in town and it was a 30 min wait to get inside as they were at full capacity.
It's not really a thing here. I think the most you will find is some of the bars and breweries may have a beer or two geared towards it.
Grab a plate of Corned beef and cabbage at St Patricks Parish, take it across the street to the Lucky Lab and enjoy.
Here are some suggestions for all of you that might do that "Kiss me I'am Irish" thing Since this is beer forum, first I would suggest Shamrock fair Kell's always has events and tents with music and whatnots McMenamins kingdom is nice place to visit @Gsulliv2 not sure where are you staying while in PDX but if by any chance you choose to stay at Double Tree at Lloyd Center, then I must say that McKenzie event is a must! Slainte and all the best while here in Cascadia!
As always, the various McMeniman's establishments are featuring a variety of festival events and entertainment. http://www.mcmenamins.com/StPats
Paddys down on 1st ave in Downtown always has a tent with music, beer, irish food etc. Its usually a pretty fun event and not packed like a sardine can like Kells and some of the other "irish" bars can be. Personally, I think im going to do what I did last year. Open a bottle of Mogli at the house and listen to Dropkick Murphys while I play with my kids
Belmont Station's 18th anniversary party is on the 17th. We won't have Guinness or Irish car bombs, but the tap list should be pretty sweet. BTW @John_M - let me know if this somehow violates the industry posting rules.
It could probably be interpreted as such (pimping your store/bar's event), but I think if it's done in this manner, it's OK. At least that's my understanding/interpretation of the rules. If you created a separate thread/post, for the sole purpose of announcing and promoting your event, then that would be a violation. Shrug. Until I hear differently...
