Yeah I saw that -- they started out with the most ridiculous set of beers too. I would have loved to hit them up, but figure there's plenty of other options...

 

Agreed, the list is still great. Attending two sessions should allow me to take my time, not get too drunk, and get a good assortment of samples from most of the breweries. Also, my 2,500th Untappd checkin should happen at EBF, so I have to make sure it's a good one.

 

I've got a plan for a @Mikexw style spreadsheet for something I have wanted to do for awhile. Me and a couple of buddies who have bottle shares work really hard to get beers for each other for shares. We trade a lot and the aim is always to have a theme share or get huge wants(within reason) for each other as kind of surprises etc. I feel blessed to take part in this and would love to share.

This is the start of a "wish list" BIF within locals. All you need to do is send me a BM with maybe 2 beers you've been dying to try or do not have the ammo to get. Obviously this will need to be kept reasonable, I mean nobody will want to give up a Cable Car(my white whale lol), Blabaer or Ann easily. But I obviously have a good list of beers I would part with to make someone happy.

I will compile a list of beers and who wants them through BM and send out a list without names, if someone has a beer they can make someones "wish" that would be great and then they are responsible for the next person, kind of like an ongoing thing within locals. I really want to keep it to the one beer plus small plus of 3-5 local shelf type beers. I know this is hard for a lot of you to keep within limits but I think we should just so people do not get discouraged to participate, so let's keep it small. This won't be a right away thing so let's get a bunch of participants and it can happen over the course of a year. I will send out the first couple things on the list to get it started and I won't be adding myself to the list either. And I do have a couple of surprising things to give away too .

Let me know if this is a stupid idea or not, I just think it would be fun. Hell even if it's just me sending stuff out I will live with that.

 

I'd be interested in an Abacus if anyone has one, or a '12 Sucaba. I'll make it worth while

 

Love it. I think we do this pretty regular, but getting more to a list of whales that we could hit would be great.

 

Yeah I know this is an awesome group, I just want to organize something and rather than all out porch destruction hit some 1-2 wants for people. So send me a BM Dave , seriously I want everyone to participate makes it easier to accomplish with a larger list and most likely wont have to send out for awhile.

 

Got my last bottles for my target... couldn't find the one but that's OK because it's only an 84 anyway, and I've replaced it with a 95.

Last hint: you've already shipped your box. I'm probably shipping this week, most likely Thursday.

This is a great idea, but one that I'm a little hesitant to participate in. There are a couple of reasons:

1) Not sure that I have the ammo to make someone's wish come true. I don't have a lot of these highly desireable beers. I want to be a giver, not a taker. I would be more willing to participate if I am able to fulfull one or two people's wish first and then be put on the list as a recipient. I would feel really guilty if I received a wish beer and then was never able to reciprocate.

2) Dwindling my wish list down to 2 beers? That would be really tough. I haven't been in this game as long as a lot of you others so my wish list of beers is extensive. It doesn't take a whole lot to please me. I'm happy just getting other people's locals to try so the regular BIF thing works great for me.

 

Make it more than two beers then and don't worry about ammo, we can figure it out

 

Congrats @JNForsyth for winning my first LIF! BM me your info. Visited Rhinegeist late 2012. Bengals fan all my life. BBBM followed by Galaxy High over Bodhi barely. Thanks for everyone's participation. This was just as fun as receiving brew. Looking forward to sharing beer with all of you.
