I'm looking for stouts or porters that taste the most like pure chocolate, albeit without being cloyingly sweet. All of the ones I've had thus far that are brewed with chocolate or that taste chocolaty also have coffee, and while I love coffee stouts with a passion, I also want to focus on the chocolate taste. BA, what are some your best recommendations for a stout or porter that taste the most like a bar of liquid dark chocolate?

From what I've had, Choklat, though that may be considered cloyingly sweet

Also, although its vanilla flavors are it'd best aspect, IMO, it's hard to best Finch's Secret Stache Stout. Freshness also matters with this beer, which is problematic because they don't date their cans.

If I ever have an issue with this beer, and any of Southern Tier's Blackwater Series stouts, it's that I really don't care for the roast profile. Nothing wrong with it, per se, just not to my taste and so consistently apparent across all their stouts.

I've had Young's Double Chocolate Stout. I didn't think it was chocolaty at all, really, or at least, not particularly. It was decent, but tasted like a typical nitro dry stout to me.

Thanks for all the suggestion so far, though, everybody!

You can't mention Rogue on this site without being banished forever, so forget I even said anything. Just act like this reply doesn't even exist.

Rogue does sound kinda douchey, but honestly I've never had any of their beers.
