Thank you for making this thread. The Iowa Beer Distro News thread is getting all jammed up with SR-71 and TG speculation posts. I hope all further posts on the topic go here!

Soooo what the hell is this beer? I had heard prior to release that it was Assassin blended with its base. Is that not the case? And why can't he just be clear about what beer his brewery is selling? The whole super secret undercover ambiguous beer thing was never cute to begin with.

People are already bidding it up over $200 for a single bottle. Le sigh..

There's always problems to be seen in the craft beer scene, no matter who you are, but I think the secondary market is the worst I've seen in years.

No, it's called greedy A-holes. If you aren't going to drink it, and are just trying to make a profit off of someone else's hard work, you're an A-hole.

While I agree that the sellers are greedy, they are able to charge those prices because someone out there is willing to pay them. If no one was getting $200 for a bottle, then the sellers would drop the price down until someone bites. $100 is still a lot of profit, but if you know you could get twice that, why wouldn't you sell for the higher price? Assuming you're a greedy asshole that is...

Nope, he's right, if maybe a bit more harsh than I'd say. If you are purposely buying beer to make a profit on it instead of leaving it for others to buy then you are greedy. Not a bad or good thing. But just truthful.
