I was just using it last night, as a matter of fact-

That's a malty Italian beer, and it seemed like the perfect way to enjoy it. Thanks again, I really love it and still put it to good use.

Second s'mores-for-breakfast beer this week for me. I suppose that makes it a good week.

Grabbed this on impulse, having been curious about High Water 'breWing' (:stuck_out_tongue:) for a while now. Pretty good. There's a clear marshmallows flavour, some graham cracker, and a bit of chocolate, making for a pretty good s'mores profile. It's somewhat sweet but not overwhelming. When it comes to this niche, I like SMORE MONEY SMORE PROBLEMS a little better, just feeling it was a bit more marshmallow, more chocolate—more s'more. Fortunately that's the one I've got a few more bottles of.

Just opened a bomber of Trillium FB-90. It's a double IPA. I managed to score this bottle at a local-ish shop that I heard through the grapevine had some Trillium in. I decided to ask the beer guy on a hunch and he gave me the last bottle. I've cracked it open and I'm drinking it while watching some hockey.

It's a 2 month old double IPA so it may be past it's prime. I'm going to save the review for a future time when I can hopefully acquire this beer a tad bit more fresh. It's not bad, but I can sense that it's not fresh. Still better than other options out there.

Drinking a Chillwave while listening to chillwave(sorta). I'm not much of an ipa guy, but ive found a few double IPAs that have been working for me. SA Rebel Rouser,Dubhe Black IPA,Brooklyn Blast, and now this. I get a full, citrusy taste, and minimal hop bitterness. The smell is more of the same with a great citrus scent. And the look of it? a perfect clear orange with a nice frothy head. Chillwave is one chill IPA. I don't really like the big palate wrecking hop bombs, but i'm liking the citrus forward, easy going double IPAs. Stouts proibably wont be dethroned as my favorite style, but beers like these are a nice change of pace every once in awhile. Cheers

    Greetings NBSer's,
What a lovely day and week it has been here in SCMN. Last night a couple of buddies lived streamed the Gov't Mule Concert, which was very good. Watching concerts live at home might turn to be like the NFL, i.e., better than being at the event, esp. for those not so young anymore.
Today's beer photo is placed near the remaining snow pile in my yard. My what a nice March this is turning out to be. It's been several years since I've been able to enjoy this much out side time in March.

With recognition to today's beer I offer the following musical dalliance. A bit of a silly song, really, but there is a time and place for that too, I guess. Here is a link as I can't seem to get this to embed, a Mike Mictlan cut (he is a member of Doomtree) that has a significant contribution from a close relative.
    http://mikemictlan.bandcamp.com/track/supermerica
And a more traditional youtube cut of Doomtree and a guest appearance by a performer from the burg in which I currently reside.

    Best to all this week.

Good afternoon fellow NBS followers. I'm a little later today than usual as we celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a great bunch of friends last night. My brisket had been in the brine for about 3 weeks and was told by more than one attendee that it was my best ever. About 8 hours of slow cooking with a honey mustard glaze on top made it die for. The cabbage was slow roasted in the oven over a pan contain a Shire Stout. The evening continued until late as we got involved in a hilarious game of Cards Against Humanity. Now on the important thing the new beer!

This week I made my spring trip to Henniker Brewing as they released there D.H. IPA on Tuesday. A sure sign of spring here in the middle of New Hampshire. This DIPA continues to evolve each year as it comes out in the spring.
This first glass was poured from a growler picked up at the brewery.
This years batch pours a nice golden orange color when poured slowly into my tulip glass. There is a nice light creamy head about 3/4 inch on the top.
There are some definite citrus overtones in the nose with just a hint of the malt hidden way in the back. There is a bigger citrus nose this year than from what I remember last year.
The taste this year IMO is a little lighter with more citrus and pine with a lighter malt profile than last years a big improvement IMO. This has evolved into a much more drinkable DIPA.
The mouth feel is smooth and enjoyable .
All in all the guys at Henniker Brewing have worked hard and done a great job in the rerelease of this D.H. IPA and I'll look forward to a few more growler fills before it's all gone. Right now it's available in growlers and being distributed in 22oz bombers. I heard something being talked about there may be cans of some of there beers in April sometime not sure if D.H. IPA will get into cans or not, I'm hoping it does.

Well I've been watching the sleet bounce off the deck the last couple of minutes, just another normal early spring weather day here in NH. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!
    Cheers!

This my new beer for today. I will say that my opinion of Otter Creek was never that positive. Having tried double dose and hearing their new brewer is excellent I wanted to try this one. I am impressed. This is one of the better IPA's I have had for a while. I will now be seeking out Otter Creek brews.

And here goes another New Belgian Beer Sunday (at least for now, not yet sure whether I'm gonna go for a second round and if - what the next contender will be) - another one from a brewery that doesn't seem to disappoint, St. Bernardus Tripel at 8% ABV.

A - Pours a hazy golden-ish dark yellow (looks darker in the picture) with a 2 finger (not pictured) quickly dissipating head.

S - Smells incredibly fruit-forward, slightly tart actually - I'd reckon it's the yeast. I think I'm getting a hint of citrus. Also getting some hints of spice and sweetness.

T - More spice-forward than in the smell but not as spicy as other Belgians. Some citrus and tartness (or slight sourness?) on the backend. Don't get much sweetness in the taste, just a little bit on the backend maybe.

M - Lots and lots of carbonation, as you'd expect with a triple - feels a lot less "chewy" than the Tripel Karmeliet and the body is actually quite light IMO.

O - Definitely prefer this over the Tripel Karmeliet and Chimay's Triple. Not as good as Unibroue or Westmalle, though. Still, definitely a solid triple with a nicely fruity flavor and something that would seem surprisingly sessionable at 8%.

A beer recommended by fellow BA TangoRad as similar to the late great Sierra Nevada Glissade. An excellent recommendation, thank you
Troegs Cultivator Hells Bock I can't improve upon or add to what BA JackHorzenpa wrote in post #3. Cultivator is a close to perfect springtime brew malty and refreshing. It is very similar to Glissade, well done Troegs. I just might go an but a case.

The Rockingham Brewing Company opened in Derry, New Hampshire (USA) in mid-February. This nano-brewery has begun bottling a few of their beers and making them available in select New Hampshire stores. This one is the Javelina IPA. 6.5% ABV. Released on March 3, 2015 and here it is about 12 days later. So it is reasonably fresh. It tastes it. Good floral, citrus, and pine presence on the nose. Medium but acidic body. The taste starts with toasted malts and then those same hop notes kick in to help it end moderately bitter.

First post on nbs. What a beer if should be. This is the best coffee beer that I've had (Big Bad Baptist shortly behind) Wow. Smooth, great mouthfeel, nice black coffee. And a nice char/smokiness to it. Sweet but not cloying. Amazing!

    Going to look for another.

Hopefully this track 10 will be as amazing when I pop it.

    Cheers guys!

Greetings fellow NBSers! A gray, rainy day here in the Fourth Corner, but that's OK as we've had an exceptionally mild winter, and without some rain we might be headed towards drought conditions this summer. Yesterday was the annual St. Patty's Day parade here in Hamsterville, and it ends at the brewery I help out at. I had a long, busy day (on my feet for about 10 hours non-stop), and my legs are really feeling it today. But, that's OK too, as we put a lot of smiles on peoples faces, and I'm going to a bottle share this afternoon.

My first, and probably only, entry for today is from a Seattle brewery that I've heard a lot of good things about, but had yet to try, Urban Family: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/28192/144131/

I will be having new brews at the above mentioned share, the highlight of which is a huge vertical of one of my favorite beers, North Coast Old Stock. I've been helping a new brewery in town with some grunt work as they prepare to open, and one of the owners gave me a few bottles of New Glarus beers as a gift. So, I'm taking the Strawberry rhubarb beer to the share. Perhaps I might gave a quick report later, if not Happy NBS, and cheers all!

An interesting era in American motorsports history was the Board Track era. Race tracks built out of wood, and most of them were a mile, or more, in length. One of the most noted was located in Rockingham. I'll have to try to get a couple of these bottles. Purely for historical reasons, of course.:stuck_out_tongue:

Back again for some lunch and another beer. The gutter filter is installed, so I shall retire cleaning gutters from my annual chores! :grinning:

BP dropped a ton of this all over Madison this week! A sniff reveals aggressive west coast hops in this beer, with plenty of grapefruit, pine, and citrus notes. Malts are more laid back compared to regular Sculpin.

Big grapefruit citrus flavor front, followed by some pine. There's a pleasant malty sweetness that complements the citrus well. I get some lingering bread and biscuit with a solid bitter grapefruit finish.

It's my first time drinking this and it is really good. Not as grapefruity as I thought it would be, which is nice because it does not become a flavored beer.
