Like a few up here, I am not buying any product from the companies in the title.
But I will buy something like Busch Signature.
    Sounds weird?
Not really, Busch doesn't hide what it is and who owns it.
The pair in the title do. No were on their websites or product is the A-B Inbev name, nothing in their brewpub.
I find dishonesty is one of the worst things a company can do.
Why try to trick folks who like craft beer but don't follow the news in the industry?
    Thoughts?

Who made the computer you're using, the TV you're watching, the shirt on your back? Look around the room and do you really know who made anything in your environment? Doubtful. Outsourcing, contract manufacturing, and MNC ownership through investment funds are commonplace everywhere, even for well known brands. Welcome to the global economy. There's nothing dishonest - the company put out press releases after all. Dishonest is having someone at the brew pub state they're not owned by AB-InBev. What is happening here is simple business. I suspect if many of the mid-tier privately owned breweries were forced to disclose their investors, the number of breweries that AB-InBev (or similar) own a stake in would be quite a bit higher than realized, and surprise many people.

I reserve the right to like beer others don't, to not see anything special about a hyped release, and to dislike breweries/beers for any reason. You draw your lines, I'll draw mine, but they're all just arbitrary lines.

    So why not "own" it?
    Be proud of your owner
    What is there to lose?
    Are they ashamed?

Is having an ABI logo on their website sufficient to be owning it? How big does it have to be? What about on the labels? What about breweries who are owned by private equity firms? Are they ashamed by not making clear their ownership?

Like any brewery, they have discretion about how they market their product.

Hope you don't drink Bourbon County and boycott them too because their website doesn't mention AB either.

Ford owns Mazda, but you don't see any blue ovals on them. BMW owns Mini, but you don't see that blue and white circle on them. VW owns Bugatti, do you see Veyrons having to proclaim their owner to be VW? I recently talked with Elysian employees after the buy out to be told that they had no intentions, or have made any steps towards, to change recipes. I will let the final product do the talking, but for now I still enjoy a lot of their offerings.

You forgot Goose Island. I will no longer be supporting all 3 of them.

Something on the label would be fine.

    I prefer to eat/drink/whatever I like.

Does everyone who eats at Chipotle know they are now owned by McDonalds (lame example but first one that popped into my head)? Probably not. Countless examples across a wide ranged of products & companies.

Not sure how buying Busch Signature but not a pint of a beer created by Shawn Kelso or Whitney Burnside is somehow a 'statement' against 10 Barrel....seems rather counter-intuitive. They are still producing craft beer.

I can respect that. Too many folks with double standards have posted similar threads. Cheers

Chipotle is not owned by McD's since '06 i think.... but your point about countless examples is valid. With craft beer, i get how for some folks its more about the "local", "micro" and craft/art - so many of a he above examples may not directly relate. cheers

That's cool. But why do you think they do not want the AB name on their products?
Do they fear that they will lose cred?
    Just wondering

I predict a new longest thread in the Northwest forum. I'm not entirely convinced that you're using the word "boycott" correctly here, but whatever.

Personal ignoring of these companies and their stuff.
    Pretty much a boycott

Like I said, whatever. When I think boycott, I'm kind of old school; I think the 1980 Summer Olympic Games, divesting from South Africa etc. Like an organized protest with a specific objective in mind. I know you're not going for that, and that's fine. "Personal ignoring of these companies and their stuff" is probably close enough.
