or someone attended separately. i'm pretty tight with one of the breweries that attended and they got one 4-bottle swag bag.

I only say that because it was posted the morning of Huna day before bottles were released to the public. So Evil Twin must have shared a room with another brewery or somehow got 8.

I've offered up Abraxas for Huna 14 a few times recently and got crickets. It took a brewery only release to land 1.

Does anyone know if there were any variants offered this year as there were in years past?

I would think a bottle of Prop maybe Vanilla Rye would be fair or rather instant. That's the difference. I can think all day that a bottle of Abraxas + BBPt5 could get a Vanilla, but then again I'd be wrong. So you don't have to trade $50 worth of "equally rare" but do try and match desirability. Abraxas can be had in the minds of Huna '15 be holders for much less, and they wouldn't be wrong. Therefore, what you traded in the past for Huna doesn't really apply here for '15. Just depends on how bad you wanna try it I guess.

This, I heard the exact same from a local brewery.

The main point is even with adding the small amount of "extra" bottles that went out to breweries possibly, there are way less Huna bottles then almost all previous years. Most locals and folks that I know plan on keeping almost all of them this year. Doesn't mean don't put up and ISO, but just understand it's most likely going to be much trickier than years past.

I think everyone who attended huna day will have a different value on what their bottles are worth to them. Only fair since they didn't actually go to a booth and choose to buy 1 to 4 bottles at $xx.xx price. They went to an event, experienced the day and all it had to offer and walked out with a bag containing 4 bottles.

Hint for both sides of this coin: Time to stop trying to win trades and establish some long term trade partners so when breweries change their plans and slash supply, someone will remember how generous/fair you were in the past and hook you up. If not, Win your trades while you can and use those winnings to not feel so bad when you have to lose the next trade to get that bottle you didn't really even need.

you're assuming there would be zero increase in the cost of a bottle of Huna though, bud. keep in mind they went to 22oz for almost all their bombers in the past year, and they all went up by a buck or 2.

me personally, I came home with 4 bottles unlike the 6 I came home with last year. I'm "valuing" my Huna at $25. It's always been a single-day, brewery-only release. This year there are just 8k bottles vs. the nearly 20k put out last year. Big difference IMO

    that said, I don't think I'm trading any :-)

This, this, and more of this. I only plan on sending out one bottle this year and that's to a long time trading partner.

I'd value them at $25... $100 for the fest, $100 for the 4 bottles. One of mine went to a trading partner, one is for a very good friend who is deployed, and 2 for me. I don't understand why people value these at $50. Huna day was a great event and very well organized. The bottle limit might curb trading a bit as Huna is one of my favorite annual release stouts. Just my opinion, but hope that helps.

exactly. I'm keeping 3 (1 for me to solo dome, 1 to age, and 1 to bring to a share or something), and I'll probably surprise one of my best trade buds with one. Strangely enough, more than half of my regular/best trade buds were at Huna, so they don't need bottles, lol

Right but that's all I CAN do...assume. Much like one can assume each was $40 and only $40 went to food. Kind of a guessing game w/o CCB stating a cost. I thought it fair to assume it went for the last known price.

Either way it sounds like it was at least run a lot better this year. I luckily got all my bottles last year but others missed out as we all know. Glad Huna day is back!

    it was epic

but yeah, I saw someone else mentioned it above, I just looked at it as $100 for the fest, $100 for the bottles

I attended Hunah, and my GF wanted to go. We are lucky people to be able to attend this event with the ticket price. I have 8 hunah bottles. How much hunah does one person really need? I traded 1 bottle when I got back home for Beer Geek speedway. I got that an '15 KBS as an extra. Both sides felt good.

    Yuuuuup!

I also was just assuming since most large format bottles from Ccb are more expensive that the huna would be 25 a piece. Trading them or trading for them will be much more difficult now.

Last year I left with enough for my self and to give away in bifs or do with as a please. Hell I still have one left. My 4 that I got this year... I'm worried I won't have enough.
