I was looking for a list that included of all the craft beers owned by Macro Breweries . I found this list helpful.

    http://www.craftbeerblacklist.com/

Anybody see this list before? Do you know if its missing anything?

Huh. I didn't know Unibroue was owned by Sapporo.

Well that just covers those owned by AB InBev. The OP's website was using the BA definition of craft brewer, which rules out more than just those.

It's missing the idea that good beer is good beer - regardless of who owns the brewery that is brewing it.

Just realized - to be clear, I was referring to Brewers Association, not Beer Advocate.

Does that knowledge make it suddenly less good?

But what if the goal of those breweries are to limit your choices of beer as a consumer?

Because regardless of the quality of beer they produce, that is the aim of the business practices and lobbying power of the large breweries.

This is so dumb. Why do I care if La Fin Du Monde trickle's up to a big corporation? It still taste amazing.

I'm slightly less jazzed for the bottle of Trois Pistoles in my fridge.

I certainly differentiate between a craft brewery that sold out (like Mendocino, Goose Island, Elysian) but still maintains autonomous brewing operations and something like Double Take IPA that showed up in my grocery store a few years ago. I was skeptical of that from the jump and quickly confirmed it was a non-brewery contract-only product that originated from a boardroom and not an actual craft brewer.

I used to drink Unibroue fairly regularly back in the early to mid 2000's and thought it was excellent. The last few times I had their beers in the last 5 years or so, it didn't seem as good as I remembered. Now I see that coincided with new ownership. Coincidence? Who knows?

This is just the latest version of the thread where some members say they don't care who makes the money from a beer and other members say they don't want to support macro brewers. Each side has their points and ultimately it comes down to an individual's choice.

Yep. A Japanese owned Canadian brewer of Belgian beers. Now that's a motley combination, huh?

99% of the time I try to buy craft beer that pushes all the appropiate buttons but there are certain things from Goose Island I will always buy and I will pretty much ignore who owns Unibroue at the moment. If I am on the road and at a truck stop or somewhere I am unfamiliar with I will buy whatever. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said: "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds."

They should only be blacklisted if the taste of their beers become altered. I can't fault anyone for wanting to make more money so long as their product remains in tact.
