I was at Hunahpu day last weekend and my favorite booth, by far, was NOLA Brewing Co. They brought 4 sours along to the festival, and they were all really really good. they also had the bottles (bombers) for each, fully labeled, sitting on the table which made me think that they are already being manufactured and distributed. I tried to look on their brewery page as well as in the forums on here and can't find them being sold anywhere. Has anyone seen them? Any other insight? Thanks BA-ers.
Their first one, lowerline, should be around in a month or so. Save me a huna, and I'll have one your way as soon as they hit.
They were looking to distribute more in Florida: http://www.brown.com/blog/2014/10/22/nola-brewing-launches-florida-with-brown-distributing/ I never see any way down in South Florida though, and who knows if the sours will get distributed here. I think the best bet would be contacting the brewery. http://www.nolabrewing.com/contact-us/
I work at NOLA and Lowerline (our base line sour) will be out within the next month or so in 750ml bottles and then we'll go from there for the rest of our sour and funky beers within the NOLA Funk Series. We'll first release them in the Louisiana market and then hopefully expand to the rest of our distribution footprint. Glad to hear you enjoyed them!
Awesome! So the upcoming sour bottle releases will hit in-state distro? I'm in Baton Rouge and wondering I will need to drive to Nola to get them. Cheers!
Nah, baton rouge is a shit hole that will not see distro. Come on down to grab your bottles, and pick up some oskar blues as well!
I will be in NOLA this weekend. Any ideas which Nola sours are available in bottles at this time? Ive seen lowerline is out, but is anything else been spotted? Lowerline bottles available in taproom?
I only saw lowerline available. It was at the taproom, steins, wholefoods, etc. All the usual suspects.
Lowerline is the only one that they are selling in bottles as of right now. Avenue Pub will be having a funk & sour night on May 13th that will feature a few draft options from Nola Black and Blue Liason Black and Blueberry sour lacto aged in wine barrels Piety Cherry Sour Arabella Peach sour Orange you glad I didn't say Kumquat Strawberry sour Nola Lowerline bottle pours
Do you think there will still be bottles of Lowerline at the taproom next weekend? (May 2)? Also, what are the bottles going for at the taproom?
