This x 100. Me and a buddy were at a recruitment event with a free tab all night and decided to revisit black ops. It is a solid beer don't get me wrong but that price is not at all representative of the quality. I bet if Brooklyn switched it to four packs and charged the same price (cough sorachi ace) it would no longer be such a shelf turd.

I suppose not. It's just quite a bit more than I'm used to paying. I'm not one of those guys who frequently drops a bunch of cash on beer (especially not $25 for six).

Brooklyn Brewery doesn't distribute to my area so I don't think i'll have to worry about that one.

Are people paying these prices? If so, then they are not too high.

You shouldn't need http://www.onlinemba.com/ to understand that.

Of course people are paying these prices or else we wouldn't be here to talk about it!

Just because we are paying these prices doesn't mean they aren't ridiculous or *too high*. Paying $7 at a bar for a fancy aluminum bottle of Bud Light WAY too high but people still buy it.

And no, I don't need an MBA to understand this stuff. It's called common sense.

About 2 weeks ago I found a four pack of 2014 BCBCS in a bodega in Manhattan for $64, or $16 individually if I wanted. I passed but snagged an Allagash Curieux for $13

I haven't had anything from Allagash but I've heard they make some great stuff. It's not available in my area but next time I'm in Maine I will have to pick some up.

Then what you are really saying is that these prices are too high for you. That is a totally different situation.

Common sense tells you if a business's prices are too high, people stop shopping there.

If you're in Maine, stay away from anything from Maine Brew Co., the sticker shock may give you a heart attack.

One of the things that I appreciate about this site is being introduced to lots of great beer that I can get for between $1.30 and $3.00 per 12 ounce bottle. One or two of those per day is not exactly a financial hardship.

Well it's still ridiculous. I'm not paying a dollar and ounce for F'ing beer unless it's hard to find AND I'm in a bar where prices are already elevated.

Great values can be found everywhere if you know where to look for them!

Most local beers around here can be had for 3 or so dollars for a 500-750 mL and only $10 for a 1.89L growler.

I was in Portland, Maine last month and saw DFH 120 for the first time. I believe it was $9.99 for a single bottle so I opted out for a couple 12 oz. bottles of Lagunitas Little Sumpin Sumpin which was around $4 each.

I'd much rather be able to walk into a store, see beer-x on the shelf, pay $25 and leave, than stand around i a line for 2 hours.

Well when I see cascade bottles going for 30 bucks a pop; I'd much rather just wait until someone releases them on tap and I'll try it that way. Same goes for almost any Belgian beer. Better off just ordering on tap

Yep, Ale Apothecary 'Sahati', I do have to preface by saying it is one of the best beers ive tasted in a long time, I purchased last year for $30 which is pretty much my limit for 750 ml. I went in to a store last month and it was $35, wanted it just couldn't justify it, so I spent $40 on others I had not tried and from those I had 2 I will buy again. I emailed them about my frustrations but got no response. Se La Vie
