Do you refuse to drink any BMC beers?

?

Will you drink BMC beers when that's all that's available?

  1. No way! I bring my own beer no matter the situation. Go craft or don't bother!

Spurred from the wedding beer thread, I have to ask this.

Do you flat out refuse to drink any Budweiser, Miller or Coors products? Like to the point where you will sneak bottles into a wedding if all they have is Miller?

I feel like there were way more people open to that idea than I would have imagined.

Sure I prefer a Fresh Squeezed IPA over a Budweiser, but if I'm at a sporting event, concert, wedding etc...where that option isn't open to me, I never once thought of sneaking something in because it doesn't seem like that big of a deal. I can still enjoy an Old Style at a Cubs game, despite it only having a 2.77 rating on here. Can you?

I don't refuse to drink BMC products but it definitely wouldn't be my first choice.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I drink quite a bit of Budweiser in the summer because it happens to be a great lawnmower beer (when it's ICE COLD).

I'm sorry to annoy everyone, but I'm not a beer snob. I like beer. Period. I still drink shitty macros and mexican/euro lagers in the summer. It hits the spot sometimes.

If offered or bought without me knowing, I drink it. I'm not a snob.

Now if I'm at an event and all that is available is BMC I go without unless the above applies.

We usually get 1/4 kegs of Coors or Miller for the Jets tailgates..Ice cold in a red cup, I have no problem having a few of them...
I also love an ice cold nip of Rolling Rock or even sometimes a Piels Draft Style..

Got to remember where you came from...

The dive bar 2 feet from my apt has 2$ Budweiser pints and since its a macro scene kegs get turned over quickly so it's often very fresh(while not being a huge issue with this style, I still think it makes it taste better). It does taste crisp and refreshing. Is it a hop bomb or BA stout? No. But it makes it fun to be able to go out with friends and have a few beers for a single digit tab. Yes, there is craft on tap as well. Sue me.

I actually enjoy Miller High Life. I haven't bought it in a few years, but one of my brothers was drinking it quite a bit about a year ago, and I would drink it before having a craft beer and it always went down really well.

It's another good "lawnmower beer" as PorterPro125 put it...

I'm an equal opportunity drinker. There is a time and place for all beer in my opinion.

If I'm at a place where they only serve macros I often just grab a rye and ginger, that being said its pretty rare these days that a bar doesn't have at least one beer I can tolerate.

Its not that I am trying to be a snob, but if that is all that's available then I just drink water. Again I am not being an a-hole and I do not have to drink to have a good time where I am going such as a friends house, a ball game, whatever. Went to an Arizona Cardinals game back in October. All they had in the stadium was BMC. I drank water and still had a hell of a good time. In my case its simply the fact that after drinking good beer, I no longer have a taste for crappy macro beer. Nothing snobby, just not going to drink something I no longer find appealing. And I really don't mind being the Designated Driver for my less enlightened friends!

Honestly, I used to have Bud every now and then but I haven't in a while now and then I had one last summer and it tasted like ass. I have just forgone drinking at times when BMC is the only option. Don't care if anyone else drinks it, but I just don't now. Why both drinking something you don't like. I also don't drink soda anymore.

I was just in Austin for South By and we were at a bar giving out free drinks, I went with Real Ale's Fireman's Four over BMC products as their only craft option. The next bar had fresh squeezed ipa as their option and I went with that. It's getting to the point where BMC isn't the only option at most places. But to answer the question, I would go with a whiskey coke over BMC or just not drink anything. I never want to give money to them.

I would never sneak in my own beer, but I have been to a few weddings recently with only BMC. Didn't drink, let my wife drink and I drive. No big deal.

Since it's a question about brewer/brand, not style, and regarding your scenario OP I would simply ask for sparkling for flat water with lemon to quench my thirst, even as a noob I know what I enjoy about the beer I drink at this point and I'm no where near snobbish, just honest like many others are here about consuming beers from said breweries. /shrug

If Macros are the only option, I will drink a Gin and Tonic, which I really enjoy. Especially during the hot Houston summers. I know it comes as a shock to some, but I drink more than just beer

It has been a long time since I had a beer brewed by AB or MillerCoors; over 3 years ago? I did buy a 6-pack of Straub's American Lager last summer which is an AAL beer very similar to the BMC products. I was not able to finish that 6-pack; I drain poured 2-3 of those beers.

If I was at a wedding and all they had beer-wise was BMC stuff I would drink something else; either a mixed drink or wine. If I had a priori knowledge that only BMC beers were being served I would bring a case of homebrewed beer (with the host's permission) and drink/share those beers.

    Cheers!

I don't like their beers. Not a fan of the flavor, or lack thereof. If they have nothing that I like, I'll drink water or iced tea. Why waste the calories on something I don't care for.

Now if they have some Mexican beer, like Pacifico or Sol, then I will drink that. Brings me back to my days in San Diego heading to TJ on the weekends...slap some lime in there, and I'm a happy boy.
