Do you prefer it when breweries list the hops used in their beer on the packaging or online? Does it help you choose beers? Do you avoid beers that do not list their hops?

It doesn't influence my purchasing decision, but I do like to know what kinds of hops are in the beer I'm drinking.

Anything they can add to the label that can help the decision making process when choosing a beer I've never had before is appreciated.

I don't give a damn which hop varieties they use if the beer is to my liking. There are certain hop varieties I definitely avoid in my own brewing but even if a commercial beer touts a hop variety I generally don't care for, I'll give it at least a try since in the end it's all dependent upon how the hops are utilized, especially in a blend.
In general, I can't stand varieties that sport a heavy citrus character, and ones that scream 'tropical fruit', especially when these varieties dominate in a brew.
    But that's just me.

Absolutely. every IPA should tell you what hops they use. Educated consumers is good for the business.

A nice to know. But I have had hops that I like abused by some brewers and vice a verse. Since I haven't been drinking IPA's that long I find it nice if it is on the bottle or here in the description. But if it isn't, would be nice if they listed it on their site. I understand there is only so much room on a bottle. Also it wouldn't affect my buying decision. Just education wise.

I like to know which hops are used. I'm not saying I would not buy an IPA if I didn't know what hops it is made with but it helps me determine if I will like it. Some folks are saying it doesn't matter as long is it is good. Sure I understand that to a degree but that is like saying I don't care what you put on my pizza as long as it's tasty! Knowing what hops are used and what hops you like certainly improves your chances of drinking a beer that you really like.

Yes. Since hop flavor is such an important factor to the IPA, it is nice to know what hops are used.

If this were a poll, you'd probably see "yes" running away with it - as @Immortale25 asked, why wouldn't one like it?

I don't avoid any particular hop, but there are some I know I tend to enjoy.

I think knowing the hops (and malts, for that matter) makes me a better beer drinker

I like knowing just for comparing flavors and likes/dislikes to other beers using same hops or different hops.

They should list the hop varieties right under the spot where they should put the date the beer was bottled.

I've been drinking hoppy beers for over 20 years, and I don't know of too many hops yet that are in the beers that I decided that I like because the hop info is not made known. It's as if it's a trade secret. Recent beers are making that known to me, so it will be an educational process to learn which hops (or combinations of hops) that I like. Being an occasional homebrewer, I'm going to enjoy knowing that information so that I can quit making beers as part of an experimentation process to learn it on my own.

Sure. If I can, I prefer to try new IPAs that have my favorite hops, like Citra, Chinook, and Simcoe.

I prefer to drink a beer without knowing, initially, what hops are included, and trying to figure out on my own what they used and if I liked/disliked the beer so I can pinpoint singular hops are used and as well as to identify objectively what hops are in beers I like or dislike.
