So you think they just guessed how many people would want bottles? How has that worked out for brews before? They HAVE to assume all limits will be maxed out. If there are extra bottles, bonus. Sell more than you have to sell? LOL. They aren't that stupid.

no but your math skills are obviously not all that great

you're insinuating that there are automatically 6,000 more bottles because there are 1,500 El Cat members. Did you account for the fact - yes, fact - that roughly 50% of El Cat members do not live anywhere near Tampa? Uh oh...

I traded a 15 Huna + a bcbs to make up for volume for a sump + abraxas if that helps anyone. I think both sides were content

And nobody ever skips town for a beer release.

Like I said, worst case scenario they have extra bottles for future events and sales. Worst case, they're fucked. They had enough bottles for everybody. They'd be stupid not to, and they hopefully know better.

Isn't it awesome how narrowing down a bottle count is so important? No. No it's not. If that is important to you, you suck.

I'm not sure I'm completely following your post, but if you're suggesting they have enough extras to give every member 4 bottles, or even 2 bottles for that matter, you're wrong.

All I know is WAY WAY less available then four for every El Cat member that's for sure. Sounds like not even enough for 2pp. Truth be told CCB though never in any way said everyone was guranteed any bottles at all, but just that leftovers were availabe. Could they maybe have given a number, yep. But remember no one was guaranteed anything.

    Fellow BAs,

I apologize to you all as I may have started the problem by talking of bottle counts. Huna is one of my favorite beers and I was lucky enough to go last year. This year, I was unable to and wanted to land a bottle or 2 and started this thread to figure out why my attempts have resulted in crickets. I inquired about bottle counts and prices but fear this is not the right way to look at things. I think our argument of perceived price and bottle counts sort of defeats the purpose of this hobby. Those of you who have a bottle...enjoy them and share with friends! Those of us who are looking for some...good luck to us and, if we strike out, there's always another beer that will intrigue us.

The point being that we should not argue about the math behind the release (including myself as I did this same thing above). Let's just enjoy the many beers we are all lucky enough to try.

    Cheers ya'll.

The number of Florida members and some others this thread insisting that Huna will still be hard to trade for and really limited
Is either hilarious or sad, depending on your point of view.

You would think people would be happy that more beer was available, and that more people would have access to it.

Unless of course your real interest is in the trade value of the beer and more bottles means less opportunity to capatalize.

I wouldn't at all be surprised to see more bottles hit the market after the El cat members are taken care of, that's the way these things normally play out. And it would be right in line with what I originally heard, that it would be offerred for sale to the general public after huna day.

I don't really see anyone in here pushing an agenda as far as trade value—mostly just clearing up misinformation regarding perceived bottle counts and availability. Nor have I seen anyone complain about the chance to get more bottles. All anyone has said was that it would be harder to trade for than in the past, which it will be, because a smaller number of people have a smaller number of bottles than in past years. It's not rocket science.

And to continue clearing up misinformation, they didn't even have enough 15 for the El Cat members who showed up yesterday, so I doubt your prediction of a public sale will come to fruition.

I highly doubt that any bottles of 2015 remain to be sold to the public or anyone. They ran out of bottles of 2015 last night before the line was done and opened cases of 2013-2014 to make sure those in line were taken care of. I don't say this in anyway to attempt to inflate or deflate the possible number of bottles out there, but just to note that it appears all bottles that exist to be sold have been sold, and not to hold out waiting for more.

How cool is that! I love when a Brewery takes care of people!

That's exactly what I am saying. They determined how many people that they think would show up and made the limits based off of that. There ended up being a few more people show up then they had bottles, so they started to turn people away...people that were already in line were offered vintage Hunahpu bottles (2013 and 2014). They only had about 3,000 bottles of 2015 Hunahpu.

So, like I said...much less than the 6,000 bottles needed to for there to be 4 bottles for each El Catador

Not trying to inflate the price as I do not intend on trading any '15. However, in years past you had the opportunistic beer mules that would buy cases upon cases of Hun to trade, gouge people on Craiglist ect.

With we will say 8500 bottles at Huna Day 4 x 2000 ticket holders other 500 to breweries and volunteers. ( I also know of at least 2 other brewers in the central FL area that got a Case each a week or so before Huna day).

Then they released 2.5 pallets .yesterday Guestimate by the mathematicians in line was 2000.

Still at most 10K bottles out there. If you are looking for '15 Huna good luck I hope you get a fair deal.

Where there more pallets brought out towards the end? I saw only 2 and a half pallets staged in the area they were having people pay / pickup.

60 cases per pallet (720 bottles) leaves the number at 1800 bottles.

In any case, at least they were able to offer up 13/14 vintage bottles to the folks at the end of the line.

The 3000 number came from what the tasting room manager and another employee told people in line (those that were likely to not get bottles of 15 Huna)

    Back to the real question....

I traded two 15 Hunas for a Parabola, Sucaba, Abyss, Black Tuesday and some Black Note. (for a friend)

I plan on sharing the other bottles with friends.

Amen. Happy to be getting an Upland Blackberry for mine, been wanting to try Upland for a while now. Who cares what there are less bottles of? Trade beer you have for beer you want and don't sweat the numbers.

Apparently stating facts and quoting a brewery means people are trying to increase the value of Hunahpu... There are too many posts with 0 knowledge on the subject and it creates issues. I used to be all for threads like this, but after this week(end), I'm done with this shit. I love how there are a handful of people that still think there are more extras that exist and the leftovers are still hitting distribution. The delusion throughout these Huna threads is over 9000! Lock the thread. Thanks.

    agreed.

before it gets closed, lets get an official recap.

appx 8,500 bottles released at huna day.
appx 3,000 bottles released on sunday, which completely sold them out of the beer and they had to dig out some '14 and '13 to take care of people.

i think it's safe to say there are no more than 12K bottles of it out there, which is about half of what was produced in 2014 between all batches.
