I'm going to be visiting Austin 4/12-4/15, I'm going to guess that there's not a chance in hell that there will still be bottles available at that point, right?

Nope. However, the great thing about Jester King is that there is always something awesome being sold.

Bottles will be gone next Friday...if bottle count is really low they could opt for pours out of bottles and do on site only to let more people try it...by mid April there will probably be a new release for you.

Nope, doubtful on draft either. But this is the season for releases so you might catch one of the other fruited that weekend

Definitely saw someone scrubbing furiously at their inner left wrist exiting a portapotty this afternoon. No idea what transpired afterwards, but it certainly seemed shady.

On topic, this beer is excellent. Kinda shocked that they blew through ~2400 bottles in a weekend, but I suppose that's to be expected these days.

I'm a local and I can assure you I left with exactly one bottle for each day I went...Three total...as intended by the brewery.

There seems to be a general feeling by many out-of-towners that since they drove so far, they "deserve" more than one (and I base this on several people telling me this exact thing) and that makes it ok for them to go through the line more than once.

Honestly, if it happens and they know who's doing it, they should ban them from purchasing bottles in the future. I drove the 60-90 minutes, each way, from my house 3x this weekend to get a bottle. It sucks when other people decide the rules don't apply to them.

Or make everything on-site only, this is why we can't have nice things.

I know you're not generalizing this to all out-of-towners, and as an out-of-towner who makes the drive round trip from Dallas for a total of 8 hours in the car, it is a shame that there are those who do shame the rest when they pull this dishonest shit and feel like they 'deserve' more because they traveled so far. Fucking entitlement at its best. There were many times this past summer, I made the drive on Friday only, just to get my 1 or 2 bottle limit of the new limited beer, and I'm perfectly ok with that. I had a few glasses at the brewery and then have a bottle to age at home. It pisses me off that others think they 'deserve' more because they drove from 'far' away and are actually telling people this. The amount of entitlement in the beer culture now-a-days is unbelievable.

I agree, if Jester King can find out who's doing it, they should be banned. Rules apply to everyone not just honest folks.

So JK went through 2400 bottles of MvB on the last weekend of SXSW and somehow people here are shocked? I'm making some popcorn but come on guys JK could have made 5000 bottles available but this is just the state of craft beer now. Plus throw in that JK is basically the only tradable brewery in TX and i'm honestly not even surprised.

Sorry, I'm going to have to play devil's advocate here and point out there is a lot of entitlement going on from everyone here. If you drove x minutes to get there, who cares? All you had to do to get this beer is show up this weekend. If you missed out, whatever. It's just beer. They'll make more. They'll even make some really similar stuff and release it really soon. Is there some enormous qualitative difference between a fruited sour and Ol Oi or Repose or any of the dozens of other sour beers available at JK every weekend? Are you going to kill yourself if you miss MvB, but get Atrial? Or apparently if you only get your 1 bottle because that's somehow some peasant allotment now? Even people who got some are complaining about other people getting more or getting it more easily.

It has nothing to do with whether someone is an out-of-towner or not. There's enough people who have no honor for anything above their own selfishness. It sucks that it's an issue and it sounds like it will probably require that JK doesn't something more extensive than hand stamps in the future. If they don't, more people will just keep cheating the system.

Ultimately, it's @jesterkingbeer who will decide if this is worth addressing and if it's that big of a deal. Everyone else has a point of view, but it's not our business and we don't make the rules...we only get to choose whether to respect or follow them.
