Going in, the only real big dissapointment for me was Evil Twin's lineup. I was hoping to see DB Jesus or BA Biscotti. Instead they are offering Ryan and Beaster Bunny and Sour Bikini, both of which generally have "eh, not bad" reviews.

For those that went last year, is it possible that they will bring a third, unlisted offering?

I'm going. Bought tickets the last two years, but couldn't go last year and didn't go the year before because I didn't think the lineup was all that great.

Really looking forward to it this year, so many amazing beers.

This event was SO worth the price of admission last year - and this year looks even better. Can't believe it doesn't sell out. No worries, more for me!

    See you all there... cheers!

This is a genuinely curious question, not trying to threadshit. What are folks excited about? When I read the line-up, aside from a few beers, I really thought, "wow, glad I saved that $100."

Well to each their own I suppose, but there are a number of beers on this list that I have never tried before, and probably will never get to try again. By my count, I have 15 that I likely will never get to have again, so it's worth it to me to throw down $100 to make that happen. Plus from reviews of past years, the crowd is limited, making for an easy tasting experience, combined with good food and a couple of buddies coming along, it's worth the $$$, to me.

I think of it like this, if I was going out for an evening of food and drinks, would I likely spend $100? Probably. So why not have some world-class beers I may never get to try again while I'm at it? But if you have no desire to spend that money, then by all means don't!

    Cheers!

I would echo the above for why its worth $100 - plenty of beers on this list that I've never had the chance to sample or probably won't be able to easily in the future (more than I'll be able to try in a night) and the relaxed atmosphere that results from them limiting the number of tickets.

And there's some connection to a prostate cancer cause so I'm writing my ticket off!

Well I totally screwed the pooch on this. I purchased a ticket but I'm going to be out of town. Anyone interested in picking up a soon to be unused ticket :flushed::slight_frown:

I second this opinion. From all the great things I keep hearing about last year not having any lines, I'm more stoked than anything.

They give you a nice catered meal and I can drink all the Vanilla Rye, 09 Darkness, BA Silhouette, Vintage Abyss, and countless others I care to drink. Have I had half these beers, yep. But the other half I havent. The only drawback is that I wish it was 4 hours instead of three!

Is it? I really thought this was #3. Guess I'm thinking of a different festival than. Either way, pretty excited for this Saturday!

From what I remember about last year, some breweries brought a couple others than what they had listed beforehand. I think they are required to bring/announce two barrels deemed "rare" and then are free to bring what they want.

In regards to the price? If I could pay $100 (tip included) to go to a non-crowded/relaxed bar, with all the listed beers, with lots of folks from the respective breweries there chatting it up, good food, and have unlimited drinking for 3 hours - I'd do it in a heartbeat, so why not go to the fest?

I've never made it to an actual beer festival so I am excited to make this one my first. You always remember your first.

Yeah but now each one you go to after won't be nearly as special.

Actually, I drank waaaay too much at my first actual beer fest and remember absolutely nothing. Like a kid in a candy shop. YMMV. You're picking a great one for your first, though. Have fun!
