If a store has a one bottle per customer rule, do you guys think it is ok to buy one and then go back the next day to buy a second?

If the store allows it, then it is within the guidelines. Is it okay? I say yes, but I'm sure the opinions and what-ifs will be all over the place.

I do. Like mentioned, unless they have it clearly stated that an entire allocation is 1 p/p until gone, I will possibly try again the next day. It's silly because if it's a box store like BevMo or TW, what stops someone from just driving to the next closest store and getting another? I'm sure lots have done that before.

If they don't have any specific language in their policy you could buy, walk out, turn around and walk back in and buy another, instead of waiting a day.

Technically, you're still circumventing the limits.

In practice I don't think most people would think of this as a dick move though.

If a store got a case of "Ultra Sought After Rare Stout" (insert the usual suspects), and people know about it, that case is going to last a matter of minutes or maybe hours. So if the beer is still there the next day, it can't really be that sought after can it.

You could always ask them what they feel is acceptable.

Coming back the next day; I'd be fine with that.
Coming back 5 minutes later; the store should enforce the policy and refuse the sale

I don't have any issues with that scenario.

If it's a chain - I say go for it. Better to ask forgiveness than permission. If there's a line especially - you go through the line, get back in line and go again - that sounds fair to me. But if it's a local independent store, personally I wouldn't because I wouldn't want the places I go regularly to think I'm a dick.

If it's that limited, there might not be any left the next day. And if it's still there, then YES!

A lot of places I see "x bottles per person per day," which eliminates this gray area. Without it, why even wait until the following day? Buy a bottle, then wait until the person who sold you the first bottle is no longer at the register, then go back in and buy a second bottle. It's still going against the intent/spirit of the bottle limit, just more aggressively/obnoxiously so.

I've had a clerk tell me to come back after their shift to buy another allotment of 2pp. I've done that once because there was still multiple cases left 4 hours later. leaving and coming back 5 minutes later seems like a dick move.

I have brought people with me to get around the one per person rule... one per person but I've brought three people!

This. I think limits for the most part are meant to prevent sellouts that same day.

Personally, I'd give it a couple days. Nothing technically wrong with going back next day, but I like to give people the opportunity.

I don't know if I've ever seen, or perhaps never viewed, a limit as an absolute like that. Most around here state how many per customer, per day.

I see nothing wrong with going back the next day, but usually the ones with low enough limits end up being gone on the same day anyhow, so I've yet to buy anything in consecutive days, but see nothing wrong with that.

I do take issue with anyone trying to game the system or take advantage, as others have mentioned. Coming back later in the day, etc just seems wrong to me on multiple levels (even if I do disagree with limits from time to time).
