Without question, the best beer release I have ever been to hands down. I really hope this is how it is done every time going forward. We had an absolute blast

I was pouring on the first floor. Looks like everything was super smooth and a lot more enjoyable to work at than the brewers festival. We had to fiddle with the CO2 a little but everyone looked happy with the pours they were getting.

Anyone know if Focal Banger is going to be a monthly release now or if it will hit a similar distribution to Heady now that the can art and recipe are finalized? I'm hoping we don't have to wait until the new brewery opens to see this more often/regularly.

I thought it was a great release. I really loved going to truck sales, but this was a nice change of pace. Instead of getting up super early, stressing over getting there, driving 8 hours round trip, my girlfriend and I were able to make a weekend out of it, relax, see some friends and enjoy some great beer. I hope luck is on my side and i can win future lotteries!

From Jen Kimmich: Focal will be bar & restaurant only until the new brewery is up & running. They couldn't come up with a fairer distribution plan for the limited quantities currently being produced. If none goes to stores, hopefully more bars be able to get it. Personally, I'd gladly give up all distribution to have the old brewpub back... people more than 10 miles from Waterbury probably won't agree, and neither would John & Jen.

Thanks @skivtjerry . Did they mention if they are going to be doing any other releases like this past weekend and how often they would be?

They did not, but given the success of this event, I'd expect something similar every 3 months or so.

Back on track for this thread's topic with happy (Heady) news! The new Stowe brewery project has been granted its final VT Act 250 permit at long last. The Stowe Reporter has the story, and VTbeer.org has picked it up already as well. Following a standard 30 day appeal period, we are ready to kick this into gear. Cheers all!

It's going to be fun in a years time when the masses find out heady is the third best beer they make...

I've had Focal and Heady and I must admit, Focal is alot better than Heady (and Heady is GREAT). Need more of that in my life.

Love Heady but Focal is the perfect blend of a really well balanced hop bomb that I could have on the regular, tend to burn out on Heady.

If you include the stuff that came out of the old brewpub, I'd personally rank Heady about 5th. They've made some great sours, saisons and even lagers.

Crusher was awesome. I would love to try it right next to heady to see if my favorite beer moves to crusher.
